I don't know a "knock" keeping him out two straight at this point in the year is awfully convenient

Oh I agree, chances are hes off if you ask me like, prolly saw his arse at his lack of minutes.

Im sure he said he would see if hes getting a chance before Xmas and if not will ask for a move, I dont blame if thats the case.

Must be off, there's literally no other logical explanation for him missing the last two games through injury.

That's so funny. Almost as funny as the idea that after spending most of the summer fighting to keep him at the club we'd suddenly decide to sell him in January just as we're starting to reap the rewards.

To be fair to him he gets put in for one game where the whole team is lethargic and Coleman is supposed to support him but looks like he's barely touched a football before and it gets him dropped while Walcott and Bernard continue to start game in game out while doing nothing. Then he comes on vs City and tears them up only to probably be dropped again at Spurs and he has a "knock." I feel like we may regret how we've handled him the last 2 years.

Dunno, its hard to say of course, but im not seeing a really top class player.

He will be the type to go somewhere, play alright for a bit and this thread will get bumped. Like that Vlasic fella.

The silence from the club may be a hint.
I don’t know how the club are being silent, we’re not going to put out a press release whenever a player doesn’t make the match day squad.

This is the quote from Silva on Lookman after the game:

“Let's see in the next few days. He hasn't started training with the team yet. It is possible for the next match but it won't be easy but let's see about the other one.”

His production per 90 minutes is startlingly good for someone his age. Of course a large amount of that comes from the bench but I'd at least like to be the club that finds out if he can translate it into starting games. He did second half of last season what Vlasic did the first half of this one but in a league at least twice as good. We've messed this up with him even if he never turns into more than what he is now.

I dunno, im not yet convinced by the boy, I thought he showed a lot of promise at 1 point and im totally aware hes barely been given a chance and hes still very, very young, but bar "production per 90minutes" and other stats, hes yet to produce anything meaningful, something you can touch, like an assist and a goal.

But as Bernard showed us today, it only takes 1 game to "blow up", now its whether Bernard can produce that weekly, but we are yet to see Lookman produce anything and hes been here 18months.

I honestly care not what he does in the Das SPL, he wont be playing for us in that League.

I don't understand the 18 months part. If he isn't on the field does it really matter how long he's been here? And the only reason I bring up his Bundesliga time is that is the only time in his career he's been consistently playing including starting games in a top flight league and he was utterly brilliant. It was something not any player could just go and do at any point in their career and he's a 21 year old who has played under 50 top flight games.

Bernard finally came through with a consistently dangerous performance after what 10 starts and a few sub appearances and Lookman has not been given that chance by 3 managers now. I think we are going to live to regret not being the team who allows him to find that form.

I know what you’re saying and you may be right, but the fact that 3 (very) different managers haven’t given him PL starts suggests that he may be lacking something, whether it’s physical or mental.
