I think both him and bernard would be well suited to a central role. Both have excellent touch , excellent dribbling, turn of pace, can beat men , lookman especially is great on tight spaces and both players can beat a man either side and aren’t scared of their weaker foot.

As can be seen, Leipzig play 2 forwards with 2 attacking midfielders behind them who are a little wider but not wingers...during a game of course they may drift wide (not blocking the full back runs) but are usually more central.
Imagine that instead of Sigurdsson, there are 2 players around the same position playing 10 odd metres wider.
This is where Lookman had enormous success and had the 2nd highest goals to minutes in the league only behind Lewendowski.
Lookman has NEVER played on the right before that ive seen, heard or read...for us its clear he is far better on the left side and for Leipzig and England he has been at his best centrally.
In a 433 system he would be in the left inside forward role.
In our current 4231 mishmash he would be on the left of the 3.
I think if we persist with this formation he should be in the centre of the 3....
I dont really like this current system as--in the same case as with Sigurdsson--our centre midfield is top heavy.
For me, if we want to unlock Lookmans potential we either play him on the left...or centrally to see him do real damage.
Yet due to us having Bernard, Sigurdsson and Richarlison hes being eased into the right...

If Vlasic performs very well in the centre then when hes back thats where we should play him.
If lookman plays best in the centre or the left then we should play him there...
Certainly not on the right...
.....most encouraged by the goalscoring positions he took up yesterday, epitomised by the header he scored from a left wing cross.

I'm still in shock he scored a header, from yesterday, to now watching on MOTD green button.
He has got to be given some starting time in the premier league, not just one run out if it does not come off straight away, dropped, he at least deserves the same grace as Walcott.

Agree, this season, when he's played, Lookman has been far more effective than Walcott.

You were suggesting lookman left , vlasic as a 10 bernard right with R9 up top. That’s 3 people on the team that don’t defend or in Bernard’s case , he toes to but isn’t the best due to his size. You can’t have that many short , young people in the team that can’t or don’t defend
