The way he played at Leipzig is not very far from how he played yesterday just the rest of the team took on a different shape because we use a #10 and they use 2 strikers. It's not like Lookman wasn't allowed to come inside or drift into the middle.

Ultimately I think the way forward is to not have a dedicated player behind the striker so moving a player who has potential on the wing to a position that may not be used after another summer window or two seems off.

You were suggesting lookman left , vlasic as a 10 bernard right with R9 up top. That’s 3 people on the team that don’t defend or in Bernard’s case , he toes to but isn’t the best due to his size. You can’t have that many short , young people in the team that can’t or don’t defend

Actually what i meant was that IF we were to persist with this formation and no signings were made in Jan then with the existing players i would go:

ACM Sigurdsson
LF Lookman
CF Richarlison
RF Bernard

Or

ACM Lookman
LF Richarlison
CF DCL
RF Bernard

Thats really all we can do as i wouldnt want Walcott anywhere near the team.

In fact what i would seek to do in the summer would be to go with a 433 system which has been played with great effect by past Brazil, Holland and Portuguese teams.

4 = Flat back 4

3 = 1 Deeper midfielder + 2 box to box

3 = left forward, centre forward, right forward

Pickford
??? Mina ??? DIgne
???
Gomes Vlasic
Bernard RIcharlison Lookman
With the caveat that its a squad game so we would need an additional RF + CF + CM as well as others to make it work on rotation...

Im looking for some big changes.

I look at what Hudson-Odoi did today for his 2 assists and think it's what Lookman needs to be doing.(4mins and 6:20mins)

I get what you're saying here...but for Lookman to do that, we'd need someone in our box that can score and get into those positions...we don't have that

This is Morata that scored 2 goals. The fella cant hit a barn door and is not a top striker the winger did the work standing his full back up, getting a yard and putting the ball into dangerous areas. If Odoi stops, does a stepover, comes inside and passes it to Fabregas who passes it to the left full then that goal doesn't happen. We're not direct enough and Lookman is one of few who's got it in their locker. Waste of time coming inside all day imo. I thought he had a great 20 mins then did sod all for 70.

I was referring to the period just prior to his injury. He was in such a good moment when he got injured, but we never saw him prior to getting injured.

He was injured then also.

Last week you was selling Lookman, this week you are building the team around him, never change Zat.

I love lookman...always have done.

Ive only ever said he should be sold IF its true he wants to leave...cant keep unhappy players. Also it was peculiar that he was out for several games when he only had a slight knock.

It appears that hes happy now.

But you knew all that and are wumming again.

Im not wumming Zat, im just pointing out your hypocrisy.

If we don't get a striker, we could do worse than give him a go there IMO. Maybe he could swap with Ric, both want to play left, maybe they could mix it up. Would Bernard work on the right? I'd like to see these three have a run together and see how it worked. I feel as if they could all swap positions, without Bernard ever being the striker. Either way, Lookman deserves to start a few games in a row, it will annoy me if he is sub again next game, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Ademola Lookman has rubbished reports of being unhappy at Everton following a goalscoring return to the first-team against Lincoln City.

Lookman - who had previously missed several weeks through injury - opened the scoring against the League Two leaders with a delicate header that lobbed over goalkeeper Josh Vickers. Bernard added a second shortly after before Michael Bostwick pulled one back.

The former Charlton Athletic winger joined RB Leipzig during last season's January transfer window and starred for the German outfit during the second-half of the campaign, scoring five goals in 11 Bundesliga appearances.

Despite Marco Silva replacing Sam Allardyce as Everton manager in the summer, speculation around Lookman's happiness continued to swirl as Leipzig tested the Blues' resolve with a series of bids.

The starting 11 changes Everton could make against Bournemouth
When asked about whether returning to Goodison Park was hard for him, the 21-year-old replied: "Football is football. I love playing football and I am glad to do that every single day. It is not a case of me being sad. I am just happy to play football

"People said at the time I was crazy to go to Germany but I saw it as another experience and another learning curve for me. I’m glad I did go.

"I learnt about being more of a goal threat and showing what I can do. Showing my worth to the team - that is the next step for me."

Former Manchester City forward Jadon Sancho was named in Gareth Southgate's England squad for clashes against Croatia and Spain in October and made his Three Lions debut against the World Cup finalists as a late substitute.

Sancho has scored six goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances this term and is one of Dortmund's brightest prospects while Reiss Nelson, on loan at Hoffenheim from Arsenal, is another British success story in Germany. The 19-year-old also has six goals to his name while making his England U21 debut in the process.

Can Lookman identify why the German league is becoming such an attractive proposition for young stars?

"Everyone’s scenario is different, all our situations are different," Lookman added. "So I think it is about the experience because wherever you go you can say you are going to play, but you have to prove it. It is for an experience, learning new football, learning a new style, just being around it.

"It was different football [in Germany], but I wouldn't say it was daunting. It was just another experience, take it in your stride and get used to it."

Now back in Royal Blue - and scoring goals - the London-born starlet will now be hoping to build on his goalscoring return during the second-half of the campaign for Silva's side.

After helping put Everton in Monday night's FA Cup fourth round draw, the forward said the words every Evertonian wanted to hear when asked if it was difficult to return to Goodison and play under Silva this season.

"It was just one of those cases," Lookman summarised. "I wasn’t unhappy. I had no choice but to work hard. It’s my job. I love to do it wherever I am. I have to work hard. I’m happy here."
