Even though he’s never played there ever?
I think Bernard has great creativity and very good in tight situations, I believe he would be a nightmare to defend against in that position.
I think he lacks the pace and strength to play out wide , sometimes he can too easily be taken out of a game by a stronger faster full back.
I would love to see him play off a striker in the middle.... I think he has played in a similar role for Brazil.

Cant hit a barn door though, id stick him on the right for the rest of the season

I like the lad but his involvement in their third on Saturday was a disgrace.

Half arsed in receiving the ball which ends up with us losing it, no sprint to get back in, no apology when it flies in and Coleman asks clearly "what was that?!". Instead just turns his back and walks off.

Why not try this for a few matches

3-5-2

With Bernard in the middle interchanging with Lookman or Gylfi, or Lookman as an alternative to DCL.
Keane, Zouma, Jags

Coleman - Gana - Bernard - Silva - Digne

Richarlison - DCL

It seriously can't get worse, and it means our creative outlets are Coleman, Digne, Lookman and Bernard, which isn't that bad, though very inexperienced and untested. We have to try something different, and our wingers aren't wingers as such.

This is the right idea but without quickness at the back it’s doomed to failure. Put Holgate in that back three and it would do a lot better (as of course it did when we beat City 4-0).

We should have sold him I think but now we need to back him..

He'll be a very good player but I'm not sure it will be here. We need to give him at least half a dozen games in a row.
I think we should have sold him also, he is not as highly rated as some on here seem to think but at the same time he does show flashes of quality at times, but they are flashes no more. Rather see him in the team than Walcott though who i hope is first out the door in the summer.

The problem is, like it is for the rest of the mids and forwards, there is very little pattern or purpose to their play when playing 'possession football' (play not from a counter); where there is pattern it is ineffective.
It is very difficult for Lookman to flourish under these conditions; and its not going to look good at times.

Yes I think he played for Brazil there in the semi final game against Germany.

That went great.

There's a reason managers never play him in that position.
