Ademola Lookman

Hi All, Charlton fan very much in peace, who has been following your season closely to see how Ade has been getting on. It's a shame to see some of the comments on here and to have watched him stagnate this season. After Joe Gomez, he is the 2nd best youngster come through for us, comparing against the likes of Scott Parker, Richard Rufus and Jonjo Shelvey.

For what it's worth, he's absolutely wasted as a right midfielder. Tracking back is not his game and he is definitely not the player to get to the byline and put a cross in. Having seen him arguably at his best, he looks like someone not enjoying his football at the moment.

When he's on his game, I can't think of many better at finding pockets of space, cutting in from the left on to his right and picking out the perfect cross or shot. Crystal Palace springs to mind of Lookman at his best.

The challenge I see for him, is that on the left, he has Bernard and Richarlison ahead of him. Bernard works much harder tracking back, Richarlison scores goals and puts himself about. From a manager's perspective, you wouldn't want to drop either of them when things aren't currently going your way.

His best position by far however, is a 'free' number 10 position. It would take a very brave manager to take someone as good as Sigurdsson and replace them with Lookman, but imo, he offers something different. He can get the ball on the half turn, run at defenders at pace, commit people and create space for the number 9. Andre Gomes and Sigurdsson are very similar players and (without meaning to cause offence) your style of play is quite predictable.

Anyway, excuse the ramblings, but wish you guys and Ade the best for the rest of the season. He absolutely has it in him to be a top, top player, it's a shame you're yet to see it yet, although I can't help but feel your management choices - particularly Allardyce has done him any favours.

Hi mate.

Can you please forward that to the club and mark it F.A.O. of M.Silva.

Ps - Half the time you need to conduct a seance to detect the presence of Sigurdsson on the pitch.

Pps - Do you have any upcoming players that we could swap for Siggy, as I think he would do very well in League One ?

The problem with him getting regular game time is that we are so poor at the moment that we need instant improvement and unless the lad does it for the full time he is on the pitch when he gets the chance to show himself then the manager will continue to look to others.
I'm with you in thinking he is a real talent.

No one else does it for the full 90 minutes either though.

Brilliant that about the seance to reveal Siggy on the pitch. I suspect his morale is low because of the team set up, but I don't know enough to have an opinion as to why this is so. He came on against City, totally failed to shoot when his one and only chance came and did nothing else. I don't care about his fat inflated fee from Swansea. I would rather have him than not.

Ive been saying all season he should be a 10...instead of sigurdsson (who bar 4/5 games in 18months has been average /anonymous)

I think if we play 433 which we will switch to then its going to be hard to play him on the left of the 3 attackers and so Silva is moving him left to right to give him a chance on the right side
