Ademola Lookman

Does anyone know anything concrete about Lookman?

This is what I know for sure. He has showed flashes of really good play, and excellent potential. He's good enough to be selected at his ge group and he was influential in the WC win in 2017 and he's still in the U21s? So he's still good for his age, and still has loads of potential, and he still gets in the match day squad, even though we have Tosun and Walcott on the bench.

All of this about his attitude is speculation. All we need to do is support young players and once they have had a good run in the team, judge them after that. The only thing I'm wondering is similar to Kenny and Davies. At the start of the season it looked like Silva genuinely wasn't sure about Davies, Kenny, Lookman vs Gana, Coleman and Walcott, but now they are all firmly reserves. If we can manage their careers, and convince Lookman that it's good to be around a first team squad that will help you grow, then he should plan to be getting ready to play regularly in a year or 18 months.

The attitude stuff is a bit more than speculation to be fair. Obviously we don’t know the ins and outs but both silva and allardyce have hinted that they haven’t been entirely happy with his attitude.

Lookman is one for keeping.
Theo scored a goal? Yes he did but his season form is lousy.

The current issue Lookman has is Bernard and Rich. They both have to start.
Theo should be allowed to leave as he has had his best years IMO.
Ade's best years are still ahead of him.

I like Lookman, hes got all the attributes of a game changer.

But compare him to Bernard and Richarlison defensively, theres a huge gulf.

Then compare him to Neres who is performing in the champions league against top sides in both attack and defence.

The question really is, if we sold Lookman and added £20mil could we sign a far better player wiith the same or greater potential and at the moment the answer is yes.

I think if therez £20mil on the table hes gone.

I was under the impression that he's suffering terrible homesickness - which has adversely affected his performance: a similar scenario to that swirling around Snail Keane. I read that a suggestion to Mrs Keane, Snail's ma, made here on GOT, had paid massive dividends in terms of his improved performance (i.e. she sent some of his old bedroom furniture, and his old mattress to Snail's Merseyside dwelling so that it smelt of home).
Perhaps Mrs Lookman might send Ademola his old mattress...perhaps someone here on GOT who knows Mrs Lookman (@Bungle ?) might pass on to her this suggestion...

When he made his debut and scored with his first kick when we hammered City, I thought, blimey, we have a star in the making here. Since then, I’ve barely seen him play (as an armchair supporter these days) so can only assume that 2 years and 4 (?) managers later, no one has been impressed enough in training to start him regularly. Can’t fathom it really, but it will be a pity if he’s sold without us ever really giving him a run of games. Coming on for 10 minutes every now and then would p*ss me off as well.
