A number of players have passed through this forum with the accolade "there is a player in there somewhere". At the end of the season I was starting to wonder if he does have something worthwhile left to offer Everton.

Hard to disagree really. Sometimes a player doesnt fit a club, or the other way round.

Whatever is working or not working, I think the fact that Davies and Lookman are talked about by Silva and Brands means something to me. They don't mention Dowell, Kenny that much but DCL, Davies and Lookman still seem to be in the plans. I hope so anyway

Not really as Sam had zero interest in attacking and moon head was nearly as bad , unsworth has never been a preeminent manager in his life. Like I said it’s only Silva , if we still had bobby then lookman would be getting game time , we would be in the championship lol but he would be getting games and at least we would know how good he is. I’m not saying I wish we kept Bobby , just pointing out that he would have played him

I think we should hold onto him until at least January.

Against Spurs and Burnley, his brief cameos gave me enough hope that he can play at the top level but rumours of his attitude or homesickness, however true they are, lead you to believe he isn't interested in becoming a first team starter for Everton.

I think previous managers bar Fat Sam, have been over-protective of him and maybe a good pre-season and a push will be the best for him.

Looking at Sancho, Fogan and Hudson-Odoi, they have played less games than Lookman has in 3 years but are regarded as £30-£100m players. Lookman could save us a small fortune in the future.

Ultimately it is down to Lookman, if he goes get the opportunity and doesn't take it, we could sell him in January to clubs looking to push or survive in their leagues but I'd be wanting £25m+ plus 20/25% sell on clause.

We’d have been much better off this season playing him instead of Walcott. Hopefully we don’t make the same mistake this season but there’s too much smoke about interest in him for no fire.

well not really

he's been here 2 and a half

done fine in his first 6 months under koeman, in and out the team, expected as a new young signing

then his first full season he went through 3 managers, so went to Germany to get game time and done well

comes back and doesn't really get played despite how out of form say Walcott was

as you say though if we get an offer and he's not in the plans I'd sell him, but I think he's had a crap time though he should have been given a GOOD run during that period Walcott was abysmal ( which he was ) and see how he done, not just 1 start or a couple of 15 minute cameos

I agree..Really he's only been here for this year, and so he should be judged after one pre-season, and up till January we see how he goes. It will depend on Vlasic, Henry O and Walcott as well , because if they are brought in or used or ahead of him by January then that means he will have to go I think.
