Promising to play a grumpy, non-performing kid with no focus or motivation to perform for us doesnt seem very cleaver, does it? Lets promise to play Antonee Robinson over Digne and Morgan Feeney over Keane/Mina while we’re at it. Tom Davis for Gana too. They have good attitudes at the very least, and seems to want to be here.
Ship the sulker back to Germany, let him rot in the bundesliga. Any profit on him would be a) clever and b) good business.

But he believed in himself and went to Germany , got in the team and done well, very well actually and scored a decent amount of goals and assists for the games he played. He has confidence and when he sees people on the team doing nothing it must frustrate him, this is where a manager really earns his money. This isn’t the army , you can’t drill everyone , you have to manage players and he onbviously is someone that needs an arm round the shoulder and to be told he’s special and to feel special. I’m not saying how down to a kid but people react in different ways. Pogba at Man U had this confidence and demanded to play, Ferguson got shot of him and he ended up being the worlds most expensive footballer coming back to the club he left for free. Give lookman games, tell him “ you are going to have a run of 10-15 games where I am going to give you as many minutes as I can” let him know he doesn’t have to produce something in the 600 seconds he’s on the pitch. Give him time and encouragement and he will kick on .

For the right player, i agree, i just dont see anything in Lookman worth the special treatment. He doesnt work hard, he usually doesnt impact games when subbed on, bad attitude. He is the kind of player we should avoid.
Like i said, i would much rather give players like Davis time.

Lookman has X factor and Davies has no stand out attributes that catch the eye. Barkley has the X factor when he broke through too. Lookman has really good dribbling and technical skills and can shoot with both feet, his close control in and around the area is probably what I like most about him and he has a decent delivery on him and I swear I have actually seen him take corners that beat the first man. If we sell him without giving him a decent 10-20 game run we will regret it I reckon

I think thats why we are talking about him so much. The Martinez treatment of Barkley - in hindsight - was to give him loads of time, patience, a long run of games, but probably not tough love and tough coaching. Lookman is getting the opposite, coaching and tough love, I would guess, but no games yet. I think its worth a try to give him one season, and either his value goes up and he gets sold, or his value goes up and he stays and helps the team

I would say Gana has "X-Factor" because he can do what no-one else in the team can do, in fact very few in the league can do, bar the like of Kante and Ndidi.

Something that most other players don’t have or can’t do. He has some skills and turns I have seen him do in the box and thought it was extremely impressive and not many players , especially on our team can do it. He can skip round people with ease and that is something which cannot be coached. Barkley has power, pace and dynamite in both feet from distance which made him special for his age. Lookman stands out more that Davies, JJK, DCL and holgate as our best young player that is trying to break through. I seen him play England youth games and he stands out like dogs balls when he has the ball, his time in Germany shows he can perform and produce in means footy and the only thing left is to give him a decent go at the prem

Or he's not very good and his value goes down and he ends up leaving on a free the season after.

Tom would be upset if he read that, so would his "many" fans. Different sort of player anyway. Both lack the extra quality or attributes that make very good players. At least Tom's feet are still in the club, Lookman's are heading out of the door.

Ok half of that i underestand, but you're saying Digne, Keane, Mina and Gana don't have good attitudes and the kids do so they should be played? Anyway this is a non-argument let's see what happens. I just hope he gets better and it happens here rather than elsewhere. He might just hate it up north and be naturally happier in London

I think he is saying the opposite. He is saying if Lookman should be played there is a better reason the other young players should, he is not saying 1st choice have bad attitude. He is saying other young players have better attitude than Lookman.

That’s because he’s not been given chances . Give him a chance if he plays well and he still wants out then we sell him for more , if he stays then great . If he turns out to be not good enough we will still sell him for what we paid
