Ademola Lookman

Mate bolasie and Walcott we’re getting picked over him, bolasie has literally been crap for 9 years yet was given minutes because why?
This is always the problem with the argument that he should do more in training. We play a bunch of clowns who do nothing on the wing and he's supposed to never get a chance? It doesn't make sense and if Lookman develops into even a decent player it'll look even dumber.

Because both are better/more reliable players than Lookman. You guys over-rate this fella WAY too much.

Silva literally said he needs to do more in training.

How else should he evaluate their current levels?.
By how they play in actual matches? I think watching Walcott struggle to impact games and Bernard scuff 70% of his shots in actual matches is more telling than what they do under no pressure. At some point that stuff has to matter.

I wouldn't risk my job on a fella that doesnt show up in training.

Bolasie is utter toilet there's no doubting that.

Walcott though has excellent movement and was part of the reason we were creating so many chances last season, it's just his finishing that was the issue. He's a good player to have in the squad. The only issue is, like Schneiderlin his wages are very high for someone who isn't a first teamer. A pretty big issue admittedly.

The problem I have is training isn't in any way similar to a match. It can't be or players would be dead on their feet by October. So while it isn't ok to be horrible in training it is also not smart to assume someone who is a bit worse in training can't play in a real match without giving them any real match time.

With Lookman he has had one spell of consistent appearances since we signed him. It was when he went on loan and he was for those 4 or 5 months better than any winger we've had this decade. It is mad that we might sell him without trying to find that form again.

Walcott is a less effective version of Richarlison and they should never play together from the start again. And if we are going to keep players around that are useful squad players I'd prefer if they were younger so maybe they could progress beyond that role. A lot of the late game Walcott appearances when we were ahead comfortably or chasing the game should have gone to Lookman.

Why would he justify a heftier price tag? Showed very little glimpses when we've seen him, three managers haven't fancied him for one reason or another. Has even been dropped from the England youth team. Boot him for good profit and go get Neres.

Not convinced Lookman has the desire to actually make it in the Prem.
First we could have sold him last summer at a similar price. So we kept an asset, we didn't need it and barely used it, the value didn't appreciate or possibly depreciated a little and then we sold it a year later? That's bad business.

Second if he goes to somewhere like RBL now and has a good season he will be worth double overnight practically. Targett just went for 17m. How much would a 22 year old homegrown winger go for in this market? If he comes good it'll go from bad business to horrific.

And lastly are we sure Neres is even better? Lookman playing in that Ajax team in that league is probably at least as good.

Yes but they were mostly fifteen minutes here and twenty minutes there, I have some doubts about his workrate but very little about his ability, think he deserves a decent run, but doubt very much that he will get it.
If he can't appear to work hard for twenty minutes I would not waste my time giving him ninety.
