I don't think he was ever happy here after Koeman left. Talented lad but inconsistent and seemed to have attitude issues in training. I do think he could have got more of a run especially after the FA cup game against Liverpool when he showed flashes, but you also have to earn it.
Not sure he's actually a winger maybe more of a number ten or forward. Anyway it's best all round he moves on, he was never going to do it here for whatever reason and he hasn't looked happy for a year. Anyway good deal for us, we can reinvest the money and he can have a chance to rebuild.

can't really complain if we do, i find it sad, but to me it signifies we're definitely going to be bringing in a new winger who will push him down the pecking order and another season of doing nothing would see his value decrease terribly.

There were reports that he wasn't happy even when Koeman was here, and he played a total of 46 minutes from the end of February that season, sometimes not even making the matchday squad. It just hasn't happened for him here, and I don't think it ever would for whatever reason. If £22m is a genuine offer we've done well. Maybe he'll prove to be worth more in the long run, but the truth is he's done absolutely nothing whatsoever to suggest his value should have doubled in the last 2 1/2 years.
