I do think we've hindered him but not enough that he shouldn't be able to shine if the quality is where I think it is.

And as I said give him a whole year of actual playing time and come back to it. End of next season let's see where he is. I'm willing to bet we look back and say at a minimum pushing him out so we could keep Walcott and Bernard was foolish.

Last season he did absolutely nothing, just sulked and looked really uninterested whenever he did get any minutes. Potential means diddly squat without the right attitude.

Yes a higher fee would be ideal but Leipzig are the only club willing to put a concrete offer on the table and £22m is probably all they can afford. Says a lot about the player that Silva isn't willing to have another year with him. Just get him gone and give his spot on the squad to someone who'll work for it.
