Lookman gave plenty when he got on. He wasn't perfect but he had a lot of good moments. Unfortunately he ended up out of the team anyway and eventually he got too frustrated and let his effort slip. That's not a good thing but a lot happened to get there.Lots of players have had things going against them out of their control yet haven't mentally given up like Lookman. Look at Niasse for Christ's sake, treated like a leper by Koeman, scoffed at by supporters as if he were the town drunk, yet still playing his heart out for the badge whenever he does get handed a chance. He sadly just doesn't have the ability to go with it. Here's a few more examples from recent years.
Bolasie - Absolutely horrendous injury, still came back and gave it his best in the latter part of 17/18 and would give it everything now if we had a use for him (we don't).
Besic - Gets loads of niggles to stunt his Everton career, then the manager who signed him is sacked, he gets a picks a bad injury in new manager's pre-season, comes back and works his hardest to impress his 3rd manager before being told he's not wanted.
Holgate - Started last season as 4th choice, injuries meant he was handed a chance, didn't impress and was dropped and eventually loaned out. Has come back this summer fully committed and desperate to impress the manager to give him another chance.
Lookman simply didn't want it enough and if that's the case we shouldn't want him.
If you and everyone else want to act like it's all on him feel free. I just don't see it that way at all. And the second paragraph of your post spelled out a bunch of reasons that it isn't whether you want to admit it or not.
