RBL accommodated his ‘posse’. Housing for Mum/family/hangers on during his loan spell. We did not. Not saying we were right/wrong but this is why he was happier there. A couple of the press guys say he is a bit immature even for his relatively young age, very pampered (apparently has never cooked anything for himself which is not a crime but...) and very close relationship with his Mum. EFC did not seem willing/able to deal with all that baggage. Koeman had zero time for it & not sure Silva ever bonded with him like he obviously has with Richarlison.

makes sense, it always seemed to be more than just footy related

i half expected it to be about a girl tbh.....and it was his mum so i suppose im right in a way haha

I have. But that wasn't, and if it was, not funny. That attitude typifies our fans view toward some players. It's perennial, Hibbo, Ozzie, Davies, DCL, Walcott, even moving to Bernard now. Mental. Back our lads, not destroy them.

He's left the club.

Agree we should support our players while they're here, but why would any Evertonian want a player to leave and go on to be successful elsewhere??

Strange situation. I would love to know his real reason for wanting to leave but I would guess it has something to do with him thinking he is a better player than the managers who were over him.

I don't believe this is one who will come back to haunt us.

What I don't understand is how someone can think they are bigger than the club when they haven't yet done anything to show why they are???? Good luck to him

Because they aren’t bitter and can still be happy to see a promising young players reach their potential elsewhere ?

never showed his potential while with us, had glimpses of what he could do. just have to figure out if its our fault or his it didn't work our, I would go with the latter

Don't agree but I take your point.

Suppose if a player leaves in the right way (Gueye) then I wish them the best, but when they sulk and agitate for a move (Lookman / Barkley) I can't bring myself to want anything but failure for them

Always disappointing when you root for a young player to come good and it doesn’t happen, but we made a pretty tidy sum, all things considered so everyone is a winner in this deal.

I’m off for a nap and fully expect to wake up to news of signings galore.
