no, it's around 58 M Euro. The buy out for him was about 48 mill, so they agreed to pay I think about 5 mill on top, then there was like a scale of fees dependant on how high they finished. So if they got runners up or 3, 4th place - and made the CL, the fee would have been higher. If they failed to get Europe at all, it'd been lower. So in the end they got Europa league, so they ended up paying about 10 mill Euro more than his buy out clause.

Wouldn't have made sense to agree a fee of close to 30 mill more than his buy out. They'd have surely just chanced their luck this summer, knowing he was very keen to join.

The whole thing was badly handled. You sign a young guy with plenty of upside at a time when the team should be giving players like him a chance to show growth on the job and you bury him on the bench and loan him out when he should have been playing. I don't blame him for wanting to go and I hope it serves as a lesson for how to manage the next round of young guys ready to impact the team.

The point of keeping him is that Everton don't want to sell him unless someone pays a fair valuation.

As people might be able to tell there's a reason I chose to sponsor his thread last season. I think he will have a big future in the game. However, I am not in favor of keeping unhappy players no matter who they are. Who knows what's going on in his mind and I doubt Ralf Ragnick knows either, unless he really is tapping him up he's probably just going off something he said while he was still loaned there.

Saying all that If Leipzig give us something like 40m if all add on stipulations are met then let him go if he's unhappy. He's a great young player with potential but I doubt he's that far advanced that Brands wouldn't know of any direct replacements and he might be thinking we could get an amazing fee for Lookman and buy someone like Steven Bergwijn for a tiny fraction of what we'd receive.
