Ademola Lookman

To be fair, and this is aimed at all players not just him, I find their complete disconnection to the fan base a little disappointing.

RB Leipzig have been chatting wham all Summer, our management team have been telling the fans they want him etc.

What’s he done? Nothing. Absolutely zilch. I suspect there’ll be young lads in London as well as young Evertonian’s that look up to him as well. All it takes is a quick clarification on what’s happening even if it’s nkt the news we want to hear.

I find lots of footballers as humans quite immature and cowardly on social media.

I think the lad will look at his behaviour in the last month or so, in time and probably think it's been a little unfair from him. Without doubt he's been treated badly, particularly in the last couple of months at the club. The fans were overwhelmingly on his side re Allardyce and made it very clear what we thought of him. It would have been hard to miss that. Likewise the club have sacked the manager (who finished 8th) got a young coach in who has developed younger players as well as a DOF who puts youth at the centre of his vision. Both spoke glowingly of Lookman, how they wanted to coach him/ how they have identified him previously. The club couldn't have done much more for the lad.

I'd like to think that he isn't an ungrateful so and so, but that he had made up his mind already, and in all likelihood has probably been a bit too hot headed/immature to really consider the above change that has happened. It's easy done at 20. When I was 20 if someone annoyed me I'd hold that anger for a long time and wouldn't see their perspective or if they could have made amends. Often to my own detriment. Life and experience teaches people flexibility.

I can't say he will massively regret the move, as RB are a fantastic club for young players. That being said he would have had the opportunity to earn a bigger contract here, work with a club who give young players a chance and be in the shop window for a massive move maybe next summer if he stays.

We will have to see. Someone will have to budge on fee. Either Everton accept well below what we probably ought to value him at, or Leipzig pay significantly more than they ever have done. I wonder, if has been suggested a half way house may be found with a big sell on fee. Possibly 50% of any profit, or maybe 30-35% of any future transfer fee with a base figure of 20 million may be done. If he kicks on and leaves for £50 million say in two years (which is possible) Everton get around 15-18 million on top of the 20 they have taken which would be a good return.

I hope the lad stays, I think the club has handled things very well so far, in playing it down and letting him sulk. Maybe there's a moment when Silva just wants him away from the squad though? Or possibly there is a moment when we realise we need more capital than we first imagined after some of the defeats and a compromise is made. It would be a sad situation, but could be true.

In general I agree with whats been said, we will see a lot more of this, a player brought in and sold for a tidy profit (around double what we paid). I have no issue with it whatsoever, I just feel it's the wrong time to do it with Lookman. Next summer I think his value will be higher as he seems like he may have a big break out season.

One left field option may be a loan, with say a decent fee (5 million +) and maybe the club look to sell him on for more money if he has a great year in the Bundesliga next summer?

We need this lad, especially this season but I’m already sick of him. If he wants to copy his hero Rom in having an immature sulk until he gets his move then :bye: get the F*** out of our club!! If it’s just rumours and our fan base doing what we do best, then good luck for season kid ;)

At the end of the day we can’t keep players who don’t want to ply for us. The attitude of the squad in general is bad enough.

Still all rumours though so unless someone is coming up with 20 Mill for him he might have to get over himself.

thing is with him, he's in absolutely no position to be in a sulk, he's proved nothing at everton and is still in a long term contract

it boils down to how much silva/brands want to keep him, should just tell him he's going nowhere stop being a brat, we'll play you this season if you still want out then we'll sell you but you can make a name for yourself here

or if we do sell him make sure we stick a hefty selling on %

When we got hammered by Chelsea and Coleman scored an own goal he was on the floor dejected & Diego Costa ran over pointing in his face whilst he wa on the floor laughing at him.

Jags stood & watched from barely 5 yards away did absolutely nothing.

He is a massive part of the malaise & lack of fight within this club been a decent player & servant to the club but has been & always will be a loser.

The much maligned Timmy Howard didn’t, though.

He had a go at Costa.

I think people are being a bit unfair on him here. He's been treated shabbily by 2 managers at the club and Leipzig have taken advantage of that by making him feel special. Its natural for him to want to go back there - maybe the club needs to take some responsibility here too.

One poster said it rather well....Brands model is buy em cheap and sell them for double, have already seen more fight and heart in Richarlison than Lookman ever showed. We can't afford luxury players at the moment, we need a team full of players who will give their all while wearing the Jersey, if we're honest Lookman doesn't want to play for us so i say good ridence, get as much as we can and tell him to sling his hook. We only get so worked up because we've had little else to cheer for, in the cold light of day Lookman may end up being good, but on the flip side of things he seems to have an ego the size of a zepplin and could so easily bomb out completely. He's more suited to Germany than here, he'd cry like a bitch if he took the tackles from big grocks that happens in the EPL

Whether it’s fair or not, unless he stars in Europe with Leipzig his exposure for selection to the England team will be so much less playing in the Bundesliga. Look at the calls for Sessegnon playing for Fulham in comparison to Sancho playing for Dortmund. He probably can’t get anywhere near the wages he could have got with us at his next contract either. Seems a silly move for everything other than his desire to play somewhere he likes.

I'd want at least £25mill with a large sell on clause.

yeah same, i don't see the point in selling for £20m if we do. I mean the lad has done barely anything for us so making a £13m profit is good business, but there's a few days left of the window, he'd have been our best backup to both wings. So unless we're buying another winger (which i really can't see give the amount we already have) i think now is the wrong time to sell.
