As much of potential talent he is you have to question his attitude to things. He comes from Charlton ffs and says if you’re not playing me I’m off. Fair enough backing yourself and all that but ffs he hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees in an Everton shirt. If he wants to go I’ll shed no tears.

This!

He wasn't bought as a first team player, he was bought as a promising youngster. He has an over inflated opinion of himself thinking he should be nailed on starter, and throwing his toys and sulking off to other teams if he doesn't get his way. This is the trouble with a lot of youngsters these days, they aren't prepared to graft, learn and EARN their place in the team. they just expect to show up and waltz into the starting team. Sorry kiddo, doesn't work that way. On the few games he did play, he showed nothing to stake a claim as a regular first team player. 3 managers didn't put him in as a starter, and neither did Leipzig for most of his spell. He needs to wake up, accept he has flaws and work on them to become a complete player. Otherwise he will just wash out.

Those saying the club treated him badly, based on what, the fact we didn't start him? get a life. he was 19, he should never have expected to be playing regular first team football having come from 2 tiers below. His performances proved he wasn't ready. A loan fighting in a competitive physical league like the championship might have done him wonders, but no, he considers himself above that.

I hope he goes the way of Rodwell and Gosling

maybe it's more to do with having the opportunity for more game time for let's be honest, a better team atm. As weird as it sounds, he'll get more opportunities to start at leipzig than he would here. Doesn't mean he's cheeky thinking he can start for us.

I mean if he was better advised, as catcher said, it's totally different everton from last year (except the defence) so it is a bit mute, but there we go.

Ah, I see we're doing that thing where we say he's rubbish now that he's leaving

Classic

No one said he's rubbish. People are saying he's immature and petulant. Which he is.

If he is refusing to train and play, then we need to sell him and reinvest. He's not done enough yet in his career to dictate to us.

Shame if he leaves, but we've lost far better players than this lad and survived ok.

Without knowing IF it's true, you can't really say he's immature or petulant.
