Even if he has some bad games I'd rather see him complete 5-6 full matches before we can say if he's ready. He looks good over short bursts but might look average in a full game but then might look good after consecutive full games?

Allardyce's comment hints at a loan to a PL club. Sticking him in the Championship to prove he's PL level now is pointless.

Plays Kenny, Holgate, DCL, Davies.

Doesn't trust youth? Mmmm...
Not sure why people are trying to fool themselves that Allardyce is something that he isn't but it's as clear as day that he doesn't trust youth. As @bluestevon said about Koeman you don't just judge them over the course of a few months or even a single season, you have to look at their record over a couple of seasons before you can see if they really trust young players. We've got Allardyce's track record on the last twenty years to judge him on. It's not pretty reading.

Totally mate, Lookman has already proven he can do it in the lower leagues, if we do loan him out, then it has to be a prem club.

Doesnt have to play Holgate as he's got Jags and Williams.

Didn't have to play DCL either as he's got Niasse, Sandro.
Not really making your own point here. Plus he dropped Holgate even though he was the only CB playing half decent and then brought him back in when he realised how pish the rest of them were.
Does Sandro count as youth?

But those players are playing regularly...which is a fact.

Same with Koeman. It was levelled at him at Southampton he didn't trust youth. Comes here and breaks DCL, Pennington, Holgate, and Davies into the first team.

So...what they've done in the past regarding youth doesn't weight up

In a busy fixture schedule and rested him

Case still stands that he's playing them though

Massive difference between trusting them and playing them for a few games. Massive difference playing youngsters for the first time and playing younger players who are already in the team when you arrive.

But hey if you want to keep deluding yourself that Allardyce trusts young players then crack on!

It's a shame that the financial pressures of the modern game don't seem to allow managers the 'luxury' of giving a young player several games to bed in as used to happen. This lad is in that category, he impresses in short bursts and often appears burdened with the pressure of having to do something amazing every time he gets the ball because he knows he only has a few minutes. His cameo at the pit showed he has the ability to impact a game at a high level, you'd hope that he could get a run until the end of the season, but I doubt he will until/unless we're in a safer position.

He's just said Lookman won't be loaned out this window! So much for a 'hint'.......
