Are we talking about the Lookman that has tore up the premier league this season? I can honestly say that he impressed in the cameo against Liverpool and the deadrubber Euro game. I know he hasn't played much but when given the opportunity he has let himself down. Bright prospect finding his way so hopefully this loan may help his development a bit more.

He hasn't really had many opportunities apart from them 2 you mentioned in the last few months for feck sake!!

I only caught a bit of the managers interview and comments about this deal and found the whole thing really weird.

Best of luck to the lad, and hopefully he comes back better for the experience.

In a perfect world we're just paving the way to strike a deal for Forsberg in the summer, I'm allowed dreams.

Yeah just seen it. He seems frustrated that he's not gone somewhere where he'll think he'll play regularly but can't blame the lad.

Could be a complete waste of time for him or something that pays off.

we should not be letting the kid decide where to go. if the club had several offers, then the club should decide which it thinks is best for his development. This strikes of a stroppy little kid throwing his toys, which is how Lookman has appeared for most of his time here (storming out of the car park before a game when he wasn't in the squad etc).
I think his attitude isn't great, and he thinks he is further up the pecking order than his current ability suggests. He has pace, but at the moment that's about it. He is weak on the ball, gets dispossessed easily and makes some bad choices for passes. He also doesn't work hard for the team to win the ball back.
A loan may help his game management and decisions, if he gets some game time, but it won't help him become a bigger stronger player. I just think he is too lightweight to ever make it in the top half of the prem.

This whole situation is bizarre. We need him as an option, why is he going to Germany how will that prepare him for PL football?I can only presume he's so pissed off at not getting chances after scoring two goals and helping set up a goal that he wanted out. Real shame

Sam thought it wouldn't be good for his development to leave on loan, but how does one 8 minute sub every 8 matches help his development here?

Surely it's better for him to be playing regularly in a decent side?

The worry isn't his development, it's that he felt the need to leave the club so he wouldn't stagnate.

I get that it's hard to balance the experience required to succeed in the PL with integrating youth players but it shouldn't result in one of our most exciting prospects leaving the bloody country.

Two goals and an assist? He’s on fire! What a return.

Totally applaud Lookmans decision to go to Leipzig rather than Derby.
It’s surprising how few English footballers choose to broaden their experience by playing on the continent.
I suppose it reflects the arrogance and unpleasant insularity of the nation as a whole . It would benefit their national team , who are comically unsuccessful.
