Looks like Sam has been to the Moshiri school of PR and motivation. Classy statement to rubbish Lookman in public. Oh wait, it's an anti-young players' club now! Yes, we've done it to Barkley (I know he's crap and old news now), Vlasic, Keane, and now Lookman. don't worry we are changing our identity, we are NOT the place for the development of young exciting talent. bye!

Hahaha

we should not be letting the kid decide where to go. if the club had several offers, then the club should decide which it thinks is best for his development. This strikes of a stroppy little kid throwing his toys, which is how Lookman has appeared for most of his time here (storming out of the car park before a game when he wasn't in the squad etc).
I think his attitude isn't great, and he thinks he is further up the pecking order than his current ability suggests. He has pace, but at the moment that's about it. He is weak on the ball, gets dispossessed easily and makes some bad choices for passes. He also doesn't work hard for the team to win the ball back.
A loan may help his game management and decisions, if he gets some game time, but it won't help him become a bigger stronger player. I just think he is too lightweight to ever make it in the top half of the prem.
Yeah, That messi fella is another one of these lightweight small players.

Totally applaud Lookmans decision to go to Leipzig rather than Derby.
It’s surprising how few English footballers choose to broaden their experience by playing on the continent.
I suppose it reflects the arrogance and unpleasant insularity of the nation as a whole . It would benefit their national team , who are comically unsuccessful.
Yeah it’s exciting, and for the most part youngsters spending time abroad is good. However, he needs to play. Going to derby he would have been in contention and they would have been aiming for promotion - every game would matter. This would have been good for his discipline and we would know if he has the minerals to play a bigger part for us next year.
Half a season on the bench in a foreign country would leave us non the wiser. I assume this is why sam is frustrated

the main issue is he SHOULD be on the bench and can be bought on to scare defences in the last twenty and the more he would have done that, the more he would have learnt and pushed for a starting place.

I get that going to Germany and champions league is a great experience but he is good enough to be in the 18.

Napoli wanted Klaassen, Sevilla got Sandro and RB get Lookman.

It is madness we cannot bed them in.

Sounded like he didn't want to when offers came in.

And I'm pretty sure he'd get game time once we got comfortably midtable, same with most of the fringe players.

Good for Lookman being master of his own destiny.
He knows he's going to be a big star and won't let someone like Big Sam hold him back.

difference is Messi can control the ball, keep hold of it, and thread a pass. 3 things Lookman has shown very little of. This is why he isn't playing.

All professionals know a team has a squad of 25+ players, and they should accept that sometimes they aren't picked. And if they aren't picked, they should know they need to up their game and work rate to force their way in to the squad. Lookman doesn't seem to see things this way. He stormed out of the club before a game because he wasn't picked, instead of sticking around and supporting his team mates. He has chosen his own Loan move against the advice of the club (lets wait and see how much game time he gets once they suss out his ability and attitude in training!).
And I think Sam's comments on the Klassen loan collapse are quite telling as well. He said Klassen wont he frozen out of the squad because he is a model professional who doesn't stir things up when he is left out the squad, UNLIKE OTHER players.

Supposedly been brought in as back up. He does seem to have a fiery teenage temper lol refusing to listen to his parents and going there. Sam commented that he wanted him to stay but couldn't have his attitude around the place if he refused.

Maybe given the fact he's already played in lower leagues in England he wanted to sample the German leagues, which is great, as long as he gets some games.

Not that Sam would've used him here anyway.....
