Air Fryers

I got a Ninja a couple of months ago and use it nearly every day. Generally cut small spuds into wedges, spray with oil and cook with whatever else I'm having - burgers, sausages, chops, pies. Still cook veg on the hob. It's done in half the time the main oven would take, tastes better and very easy to keep clean.

They’re worth getting even if you love cooking.

I still cook every other night at the hob but when I’m not it’s air fryer time.

I made crispy chicken burgers in it last night and they were great. To make them at the oven would require loads of oil, and a lot of mess.

Defo worth it even if you like to cook.

How do they work ?
To the best of my knowledge, they're in essence a smaller, more efficient method of a conventional fan oven, but their efficiency is the big positive.

As the element and fan are more efficient compared to the size of the trays, they heat quicker, the air circulates better, and they are cheaper to run.

The rule is typically to knock 20-25% off the standard cooking time at the same temperature, with no warm up time needed. The food is healthier and tastier, too.

Cheers ; applying the old adage - 'that you get what you pay for' - are the good ones generally expensive ?

Aye, a large capacity and good quality version is not cheap, but personally I think they’re worth it. We paid £180 for a Ninja XL dual draw one.

You can sync the draws, so they’ll be ready at the same time, and there’s lots of other options on it too, which my wife and daughters do actually use.

Depends what type of thing you are after. Ninja tend to be called the best ones, I have a Cosori one which are kind of mid range and I love it (even if it is red).

My oven broke a few months back and I couldnt be bothered replacing it so just got an Air Fryer instead and it does everything I want it too.

The best part of the air fryer is probably how easy they are to clean. No matter what I cook in it, never have an issue with cleaning.

Not got one... Always presume it'll end up buried in the cupboard along with the toastie maker, smoothie machine and the George foreman grill
