I drove up a gutter (deliberately to take a short cut but it backfired) a couple of years ago and the left door ones went off, was hoping they'd write it off but they didn't unfortunately. Already got a new car out of insurance when i hit a cow doing 80km/h in the middle of the night and wanted another new one lol

I had no idea cows could run so fast. ?

All day on the telephone - sorted, got a good price for the right off in the daylight, not worth repairing, grabbed a bargain replacement from the dealer I purchased the car off - ho I managed to post any photos today was a miracle on the old photos thread ....
The breakdown company trying to work it up is then the insurance - unbelievable deposit paid taking it for a test drive on Saturday, picking the new car up next week ..... as the claim will drag on, no doubts about it - @COYBL25 tried to do what you did Insurance companies do it, but getting airbags replaced very few firms do it plus looking again it looks out of shape on the front end - not worth the gamble ......
Spoke to one firm & the plastic bumper airbag sensors are in the bumpers 12 miles an hour, if the car hits the sensor the bags go off -

What sort of car you buy as a replacement?

Glad you get it sorted in the end Joey ;)

Hit a dear full one a month or two ago - I was going 65+ mph. Airbags didnt go off!! Been arguing with the manufacturer thatr they should have but they claim no issue. Car was written off as the front was crumpled. They did offer to let me buy it back and have it repaired myself but I needed all the cash for a replacement.
Anyway the lesson is when the insurers offer you a number say no - It took them four goes to get to a number I would accept which was about 35% higher than theri first offer.
