It`ll get sold in an auction for buttons and fixed up by someone.
Yes - gutted, but with it being notified as a right off it will lose 20% of its market value plus the car might be structurally damaged too plus the wait to get the airbags done plus it may need another MOT ....if I kept it ....my son needs a car quickly for work .... It's not just the bags - seatbelts - it's the ECU work codes etc to put everything back working the power steering etc the whole dashboard has to come out - seen a young lad do the airbags on YouTube he did the lot in 1 hour & had the gear to do the ECU - add to that the front bumper knackered plus the wing on the drivers side has moved too away from the bonnet slightly ....
.....

Hit a dear full one a month or two ago - I was going 65+ mph. Airbags didnt go off!! Been arguing with the manufacturer thatr they should have but they claim no issue. Car was written off as the front was crumpled. They did offer to let me buy it back and have it repaired myself but I needed all the cash for a replacement.
Anyway the lesson is when the insurers offer you a number say no - It took them four goes to get to a number I would accept which was about 35% higher than theri first offer.
Thanks - Thats what I will do, they have offered me provisionally 6 grand ......

Say you don't think it's enough (give a decent reason) say if they don't improve their offer you'll go to the ombudsman and ask them for a final response. Then just accept their final offer.

Took your advice, I got the total price of what I paid for the car, so I can purchase the other car I'm after £6500 from £6 000 plus I can claim back 6 months road tax.... ;)
