Alan Myers leaves Everton for 'personal reasons'.

Obviously we don't know fully why he's quit, but in my eyes he's thrown himself 100% into the job, which has changed massively since he last did it with the advent of social media. He's been on twitter at all hours dealing with blues, and social media makes it a very 24/7 position. As he's thrown himself so deeply into a job he obviously less loving and proud to do, I wonder if he's just burnt himself out.

A big loss to the club, and I hope they realize what a difference having a media savvy friendly blue as director of communications makes and we get similar, not another Ross or Tyrell

Can I be the first to nominate DaveK for the open job. oh How we would get to the bottom of so much so quickly.

The club statement -“Alan has informed the Club that he sees his future career away from the demands of Goodison Park. We respect Alan’s wishes and would like to thank him for the contribution he has made since arriving at Everton. Everyone at the Club wishes him the very best for the future.” - says to me its not twitter, its not his health but something has happened at GP

Bit negative for me that.

it's only a throwaway remark in reply to the term "revival", we can continue the debate in the "who will finish 4th" thread, or Danny's thread about 7th place.

This one's about Alan, I think we're all in unison here in thanking him and wishing him the all the best. It's also about who may replace him. I necknominate Butters.

My thoughts exactly, he really was excellent and through himself into this job 24/7. Really sad to see him go.

Wouldn't really blame twitter too much as they're are lots of idiots on all social media.

Sad to see him go ... worried about the replacement because pre-Alan we haven't had much luck.

Best of luck to Alan "in his future endeavours."
