greggs is even worse . How they have the nerve to sell there stuff cold is beyond me . Who wants to eat a cold Pie or pasty ?

Agree with you there. I had never gone to a Greggs before this last trip back as we always went to Sayers and I knew what I was getting, had one this last trip and the Pound Bakery was well better.

Pasties are one of the major food items we don't get here in Canada, or a good pie for that matter.

Their steak pies were superb...in fact all their stuff was great. Sad day when they went bust especially for their loyal workforce. I was in Whiston Hossie for a week a couple of years ago and we were talking about their pies (probably wistfully when they brought "the grub" around) Someone said that some of their bakers were still doing their pies in a few outlets but didn't know where and no detail online. Just looked up now out of curiosity and found this http://www.pimmiespies.co.uk/menu/. The shops/cafes doing them are probably round St Helens centre maybe.

yeah I've heard about Pimmies but not tried them, there is a Pimbletts near me but nothing to do with the St Helens shops, their steak are remarkably like theirs though but a lot bigger, I get the hump though cos it's just a local shop that doesn't do that many batches & even when you ask if they are hot they end up not being (bags are red hot like) & often have to go in the oven, I aint payin' 3 1/2 quid for a cpl of pies though, I'd rather get a much more filling Kebab Wrap for £3.
