Confirmed Signing Alex Iwobi

Being the key word. You're not convinced though.

Sure he would get games here and there with us but if we are splashing that sort of money, (which btw is close to our clubs record signing) i would like to think its because the player coming in is a massive upgrade from what we already have.

Gomes > Iwobi
Sigurdsson > Iwobi
Bernard > Iwobi
Delph (fully fit) > Iwobi
Richarlison > Iwobi
Gomes: different position
Sigurdsson: Today yes maybe not by the end of this season
Bernard: no
Delph: Different position
Richarlison: Richie is better but they have very different styles so it would be a good combo

If they sign Iwobi for £40m I honestly will question Brands. The ONLY reason Zaha is being touted for as much as he is because he is "Premier League proven". Iwobi isn't "proven" by any stretch it the imagination.

You know people are struggling when they put home grown player. What does that even mean

Here's a CBBC newsround article that explains. See point one, 'TEAMS NEED HOMEGROWN PLAYERS':

In a nutshell you need 8 out of your 25 man squad to be homegrown players (trained in the UK from age 15 to 21, or British nationality), so the optimum situation is to have homegrown players who are also good players. Thanks for being so dismissive rather than just asking though :)

Neither was Gueye or Richarlison.

If we do sign him lets see what happens with him first. He has young and has some good qualities so who knows?

But he's not that good. Thats the point. Have you actualy heard arsenal fans talk about him? And arsenal would not be interested in selling him if he was.
I will be honest i havent watched him in great detail. But from the bits i have i wouldnt be falling over myself to buy him.
Will go right back to my first post. 30m for what exactly.

Think he's been alright whenever I've seen him on the pitch for Arsenal. Like a lot of other players out there though just seems to be pretty inconsistent in general.

I watch arsenal fan tv every now and then for a laugh. I cant recall one arsenal fan praising him. He become a bit of a joke tbh.

I personally think it could be something to try to get the Zaha transfer moving tbh, but if they are signing him you have to assume they have scouted him thoroughly and think he has the potential to kick on. He's not played in great Arsenal teams and there has been a lot of issues in the dressing room etc, so in a new environment and playing in a different way he there's every chance he could jump up a level.. It's a gamble but if that's what the clubs scouting team think then we should give the lad a chance. Digne struggled to make an impact before Everton too...

The thing is though the fans who watch him week in, week out virtually say the same thing, that he's been given plenty of time and chances to shine, but since his debut 4 seasons ago he's never kicked on, and he never will because he's just not good enough.
