It’s because we watch the game with our eyes not on a spreadsheet. He might have a better pass completion rate in terms of percentages, but he gives the ball away with lazy, brainless passes far more than the others. That’s why people say he gives the ball away ‘too easily’ rather than ‘the most according to ratemysoccerballrealgoodkicks.com’.
Saying I watch it with my eyes so I'm right in this case is no different than if you were on about how Schneiderlin was our best goal scorer. We can count and show that he isn't just the same as we can count how many times someone loses possession and show who does it more.

This my opinion is right even if the facts don't line up is such a ridiculous disease the world has contracted.

The worst part is there is plenty to criticize. You don't even have to make stuff up!

Weird how every single person criticises his ball retention tho hey.

Almost like everybody sees the same thing.

He's dispossessed less than the players in our sqaud in his position per game and his pass completion is higher. So everyone who sees that is either wrong or thinks all of our attacking midfield options are bad at ball retention.

I don't care if you guys like stats or not, you're just living in a place that isn't reality with this criticism.

Again, there are plenty of things that you can actually go after him for!!

But where as little Bernie and Walcott actually do things now and again, this fella doesnt.

And that is fair enough.

Although I think a lot of people disagree on the Bernard part of that from what I read in his thread.

Most people will always give Bernie plenty of leeway, hes a cracking little player and is the type we watch footy for.
Yeah I know I've been told that thousands of times now.

I prefer watching our forwards myself. The games Richarlison missed were tougher watches than when Bernard's been left out for me.

But as I said, you were responding to somebody saying he gives the ball away ‘too easily’. He didn’t say ‘more than anyone else in the team’ so your stats don’t even begin to contradict him, nevermind offer the definitive proof you seem to think they do. So while your schmeiderlin analogy may have sounded great in your head, I’m afraid it doesn’t really work.

Oh so we were playing the semantics game the whole time? I suppose if you do that you don't ever have to reckon with stats as you can just adjust things and claim that it isn't covering what you mean.

Logic would say if someone is giving the ball away too easily than they would be doing it more than other players. But I guess that's not what you or anyone else means. Honestly if that isn't it I'm not sure really what you do mean. How do you go about deciding that someone is giving it away too easily? Is there a criteria or is it whenever you decide? Since the amount of times they do it is apparently not a factor.

It’s an opinion. It’s why despite you desperately claiming otherwise I’m not saying I’m right and you’re wrong. We can both have differing opinions and they can both be valid. You’re trying to say your opinion is fact because stats back it up, but the stats you’re talking about don’t actually address what was being talked about. I’m fully aware that my opinion is not fact, but it annoys me when people who don’t actually understand the concept of having an opinion based on what you see and automatically default to stats try to pretend their way is better than the way people who’ve actually grown up playing and watching the game form their opinions.

I live with too many idiots who say it's ok that they're prejudiced and that they support backward policies because it's their opinion for me to just blindly take things without any proof at all. I'm glad you trust your eyes enough to believe that they tell you the correct things but when they are in direct contradiction to what is being shown by completely unbiased data, it might be time to at least ask why that is.

I mean I’ve literally just explained that that isn’t the case but ok.
