Crosses were horrible but giving it a bit more thought he was basically our only outlet for the majority of the game getting the ball on the halfway line and expected to create pretty much everything.

I agree - clearly suited to RWB role, but it’s not the better system for us, so unfortunately he will be collateral damage.
There is a player there.

Genuinely would love to see him given Gomes position. He's shown he's no worse defensively and I think he gives more directness when it is needed than Andre.

His crossing is laughable. Great opportunities and he overhits.

there was some shocking passing all through the team so it is a bit unfair to dig him out on that

He looks more comfortable than expected playing as a right back/wing back but there were 2 or 3 opportunities where he could have really driven into the box / took it to the byline to cut it back instead of crossing.

He wouldn't. He's a pretty intelligent footballer.

Also Gomes is too, so what's the issue with that if he is?
