2020/21 Alex Iwobi

Nah, for me, he plays well as a RWB because the game is simple.

As a player, he has zero composure or intelligence.

He has a bit of athleticism and pace and can put in a good pass/cross.

When he is told that his one job is basically to run in a straight line, he does it well.

Anything else (like we saw v Leeds) and he can't cope. Unfortunately, that sums up half of the squad, too.
He reminds me of Wolves' Traore who has played at RWB a fair bit. Much less pace and goal threat but similar role to get his head own and run with the ball into the box. For me he's still one of the worst bits of business we've ever done but at least at RWB he can offer something, which he doesn't anywhere else.

Those late ballooned crosses were infuriating though.

They are though really mate. Digne, Delph, Coleman & Kenny are who he woud regard our first choice and 1st reserve. I'm sure we woud make a case for Nkonkou, but I'm not sure he views it in such a way.

Kenny is fit. Nkounkou is our back-up left-back.

Delph should be nowhere near the side unless his one role is to sit in that '6' role and pass it to a better player.

I find our squad management absolutely abysmal, from the top down.

Lol. I'm going to keep my composure but you all make it very hard sometimes.

Go on, please, enlightened one?

I've played footy to a pretty bang average level. Composure on the ball is a huge part of it.

Iwobi has none of it. Everything is rushed with him.

I think there's a good player in there, but he operates off instinct. His game has improved when it's been simplified – for the record, I thought he was okay today!

You can't talk to big Iggy about Iwobi, his love for him is as unconditional as his hatred is for Bernard (he'll tell you until you want to kill yourself how objective he is though, and how riddled with bias you are). @TheBigIguana is a true disciple of Trump.

Iwobi got into some great positions but his final ball was wide off the mark...

His crossing was terrible for a premiership player...

Pfft. Just another expensive mid table at best signing.
We gave up when we paid that money. Could have got same level player for a 3rd of the price.
You kill me Everton.

I felt that Alex Iwobi did well today against Burnley. Made a couple of good tackles, put a few decent crosses into the opposition box. The guy is far more productive on the right than he was on the left against Leeds.

His crossing in the last 20 cost us massively. But he was reasonably solid defensively.
I had a good look at him today defensively. I dont think he looked too bad going forward especially from wing back. But defensively he will get ripped apart by any sort of decent team. His positioning and effort getting back sometime was woeful today but got away with it as burnley were woeful. We need to sell him. There is no position for him in any team with top 6 intentions. None. Hopefully some foolish club will buy him off us like we did off arsenal.

He does OK once he's in the box, and some of his one-on-one defending was decent.

Crossing from deep was abysmal, though. I hope he doesn't continue there if the plan is now to go back to a four-man defence.
