3 years left on his contract.
We are in another Bolasie/Tosun situation with the likes of Iwobi/Gomes.
Its the problem with such big transfer fees, you feel you need to offer 5 year deals to protect your investment.
If he cost us 10-20million we might of been more likely to give him less of a contract.
If you count in his 2 years hes already been here and 3 years left (6million a year transfer fee + 4 mill a year in wages) we would need to sell for 30 million to break even!
Reading your last sentence makes me feel ill.

Yeah thats not true.

Lets assume he cost 34m and all add ons have been met.

34/5 = 6.8m - 2 years = 20.4m would be the ideal selling price, but, hes got 3 years left on his contract, lets say 4m a year in wages, if we sold him for 8m we would break even regards FFP.

At least we're only 2 games away from watching a boss youtube video of him showcasing his new manbag worth more than my house and him jetting off in a private jet.to a private island due to all the hard work and effort he's put in this season.

In general, I think footballers are entitled to do as they please with their time off, up to and including running around New York with a gargantuan open collar and a shirt tail hanging out...or even a bathrobe.

In this guy's case, it's astonishingly tone-deaf.

Im struggling to think of a club stupid enough to sign him or Gomes.

£10-12mil for each and hopefully someone makes that mistake.

palace have hardly any players under contract for next season and eze is out for the year, fingers crossed their next manager is a complete idiot.
newcastle seems a good fit for him too.

gomes will hopefully appeal to a Spanish or Portuguese team.

He's obviously been crap but tbf he has been playing in his wrong position pretty much all season. We may aswell play him on the left in these last two meaningless games and hope he does something that might increase his value.

...matching salary would be the issue. Even if somebody offered that type of figure, neither player is likely to accept a drop in salary whilst they have a reasonable time left on their current deal.
IIRC Iwobi isn't on an astronomical wage

Good idea ;) My current valuation, nothing, would improve with confirmation that he is breathing so you never know who could be sucked in by that cunning plan
