Alternatively calling black people lazy is a racial stereotype and it happens on this forum in questionable circumstances, imo. I've said my piece though, so I'm all finished with this.

Put the colour of a person's skin aside. If a fan's perception is that he is lazy then that's his/her perception. You can't just throw racial stereotypes in there for the sake of it...as if they only said it because of their skin colour...

Look I don't think people said it because of his skin color, I think people are more likely to see a black player as lazy because of the stereotypes in our culture. It seems the same, but it isn't.

Plenty of other reasons including behaviour but even comparing the two as they are both black Italian centre forwards what exactly is racist about that?

You need to brush up on what the term racism actually is.

So how does comparing Kean to Balotelli meet your posted definition?

Plenty of white footballers get compared to other white footballers doesn't make it racist - I've seen Pickford compared to Richard Wright.

I get what you're saying. But just as easy to assume the fan is making the remark because the player is black. So the fan becomes the victim of a stereotypical assumption too...

He's probably about to start but regardless he's played the four PL games he has been fit for and the people keeping him out are Richarlison and James so not sure that's a mark against him.
