2021/22 Alex Iwobi

Iwobi is going to be the same player for us as he was at Arsenal.
Squad player used as a sub in games that are already won or lost, he will keep the numbers in the squad up and as we can't find anyone to buy him then he will see his contract out with us.

We can only hope some club is desperate enough in the January window but really any of the clubs who are likely to fight relegation could not afford him.

When does his contract expire, any idea?

Newcastle could, crosses fingers.

Sadly, he's just occupying a spot for a potential youngster or a potential better talent incomings. He showed some willingness to press and run at the start of the season. That has just completely faded after 3-4 games. It was the same type of trend under Carlo - remember how he was out due to fatigue.

Since we are stuck with him, we can always start him against Wolves lol

….as we know, ordinary players on mega bucks and lengthy contracts are impossible to shift.

Even if somebody wanted Iwobi, they won’t match his salary and he won’t move with so many years left.

If we sell players (like Digne) and replace them with others (like Mykolenko) then we're well up on transfer fee + wages FFP wise.

That gives us room to take a loss on Iwobi on both fee and wages.

People are saying all the stick he is getting is affecting his game, so let's all get behind him in his next game and see if he improves, it's got to be worth a try as a last resort .

He is a very skillful player with a pitch made of concrete and the size of a basketball court, surrounded by fences. If our season doesn't improve.... that's how Bramley Moore ends up, I say keep him.
