He was OK, let’s not go overboard herePlay well - keep the shirt. That’s how it needs to be IMO.
Dropping Gray would be madnessBut Gray would not have contributed in the way Iwobi did on Saturday.
I wouldn’t necessarily change a winning side, especially one that had performed so well.
It’s outrageous to suggest it’s possibly down to past managers. All true, but IF Lampard gets those sorts of performances out of him regularly, then some of the problem must lie with the way he was managed. (But only some).
I have seen him and I know he has not performed. All I am saying is that managers also impact on players to varying degrees. If they didn’t, changing manager would make no difference. It’s outrageous to suggest it’s possibly down to past managers.
I’ve not seen either quality or work ethic up until Saturday. I reckon he’s decided the time was right to put a shift in.
As a football fan I can’t accept players deciding when they will do the business or not. It’s players like that that get managers the sack and are just rotten apples.
Yes it’s great that frank might be able to get a tune out of him for a few games but GET RID ASAP!!
His performance levels/effort will drop off again at some point!! (Probably soon)I have seen him and I know he has not performed. All I am saying is that managers also impact on players to varying degrees. If they didn’t, changing manager would make no difference.
If (and it’s a big if), Lampard gets a tube out of Iwobi, then it is down to his management because none of the others have managed it.
My expectation is that his performances will fall back to usual levels.
The thing is I feel like it hasn't been a kick up the arse so much as a manager finally coming in and trying to actually connect with himAgree, hope this kick up his arse makes him up his game for rest of season, but I’d still love to get rid and £10mill for him in the summer, he isn’t good enough For us and we all know
I don't think there has been a lack of effort from him, I just think he has been utter crap by and large. It’s outrageous to suggest it’s possibly down to past managers.

To be honest that’s sits better with me.I don't think there has been a lack of effort from him, I just think he has been utter crap by and large.
Then that just shows his weak mentality. Did well on Saturday but players should be able to self-motivate. It’s not like he hasn’t been played by previous managers - he’s started far more games than most of us would have liked and has been tried in several positions. He’s always given me the impression of being quite like Siggy… happy to run about a bit and look as if he’s being busy without actually trying to impose himself on the game, take responsibility or give everything he’s got for the team. The lack of quality is frustrating given the price we paid, but it’s the lack of guts and determination that rankles most. Pleased with his efforts at the weekend but I doubt they’ll be maintained with any consistency sadly. The thing is I feel like it hasn't been a kick up the arse so much as a manager finally coming in and trying to actually connect with him
No, he would of showed some of his ability in the last 2 years plus.. He was on a mission last game because of the stick he’s getting off us lot and his international team, so he have everythingThe thing is I feel like it hasn't been a kick up the arse so much as a manager finally coming in and trying to actually connect with him
People are different. Call it weak if you want but some people aren't going to respond when they turn up and their first manager doesn't actually want them then the second manager just gives them whatever crap he doesn't have anyone else to do and then the the third is a complete d-head to everyone. Then that just shows his weak mentality. Or he was on a mission because he felt a sense of belonging in the team that he hadn't before. Not everything has to be based off negative reinforcement. No, he would of showed some of his ability in the last 2 years plus.. Frank and his team really want these players and this club to do well and their approach is beginning to pay dividends, when called upon every player is putting in a shift, even Tosun and Rondon. Not since the days of Kendall Mk1 have I witnessed a team spirit qiute like this one, and early in Kendall's carear he suffered set backs and had the crowd on his back at times. If Frank turns out to be even half the manager that Howard was then we are in for one hell of a ride. ?Or he was on a mission because he felt a sense of belonging in the team that he hadn't before.
