He has been very poor for significant periods, but not the last two games. Not stunning, but perfectly passable.

He's been an unmitigated disaster of a transfer. Possibly pound for pound the worst in this clubs history. Thats why its a bit cringe when some posters want to erase that with as you say, passable, performances.
Because he has set the bar so low in the past 2 years even "passable" performances are deemed good enough with him. Thats how desperate it is. We're now thankful for anything.
Everyone has the chance to redeem themselves. Esp with a new manager. But given this frauds previous. I want a lot more than two bleedin "passable" displays before getting amnesia of his time here.

I’m with you - absolutely brainless purchase particularly when you see the likes of that raphinha for almost half the price.

That said - the turn and perfectly weighted pass for Calvert lewin gave me some encouragement he might resemble a footballer this season - one that we could sell to some unsuspecting bunch at the end of the season

Id go along with that. If we get snippets out of him maybe a watford or brentford might take a punt.

While I agree with most of what you say and I know Delph cost about a third of Iwobi's fee but I'd say his pound for pound value is significantly less . At least Iwobi wants to play and doesn't treat our fans with utter disdain .
That's my weekly Fabian tantrum . See you next week .

I am very happy to see Crab looking a lot less reticent this season. I think the new manager will be good for Crab. And I think we are all in for a much better season than any of us suspected. Thank goodness Barney Ancelotti is gone!

I think we’re in the same place to be honest.

I agree that two ok performances do not rehabilitate him and he has to do a lot more constantly.

However, when he has done ok, he should be allowed that acknowledgment.

Made a rod for his own back imo with half arsed efforts for two years.
But new manager. New chance.
We'll see

I do agree and I’m not defending what we all saw.

I do know that he has talent that hasn’t come through yet. Look at what the squad said about him.

If that is the case, it is up to the club to find a way to help him express his talent on the field.

I actually think Ancelotti’s football stifled quite a few of our players - Dine, Richarlison and Iwobi.

It also needs to be pointed out that Iwobi played on the left for Arsenal a lot not the right.

Iwobi has to take this opportunity and show he is worth a place. He has a lot of doubters to overcome, including me. But two reasonable games in succession is a start. That’s all, nothing more.

He should never ever have been signed off the back of his Arsenal displays.
Their fans were not laughing at Everton for no reason.

That may be true, but he is here and there is nothing we can do about it.

That was more a response to your where he played at Arsenal.
He was gash there to.
Well there is something. Find an idiot to take him.
Alas i think you'll struggle to find a big enough idiot to do that. I think Everton exhausted the idiot stakes on this one.

Iwobi would fit right into the current arsenal side, all fart no shoite - they pulled Our Keck's down massively.

How can constantly trying to create chances for his forwards be a bad thing
Because it's not always the right thing to do?? The amount of times he ruins a promising attack by trying to switch play to Lucas Digne is insane. That's not creativity, that's just being brainless. You'd never see De Bruyne do some of the things James does.

Getting him to run in the direction of the oppositions goal is a start

Just need to sort his other weaknesses out now

I'm sure someone will want him somewhere
