The 24 hour coverage of the game, social media and forums like this make it hard for players to switch off. I know they paid a lot but if the player is insecure no amount of money will compensate that.

It’s a tough one because people need to be able to vent about something they feel passionate about and feel better for doing so but honestly if I was a player nowadays I’d definitely look myself up and read comments and you know that some of the crap is just toxic because they’re ‘trolling’ or in Iwobi’s case he was genuinely bad and got called out for it.

For Iwobi, it looks like he needed someone to say:
You’re clearly not a winger
You need to press constantly and run hard for 90 minutes so get fitter
You need the confidence to try and run will the ball and try and pick a forward pass

Fans only comment on what they see, which was someone stinking out the place on the wing and not running hard enough.

Probably needs better friends too. Imagine having mates that are part of your entourage, probably getting paying by you everywhere and they are in the car on the way home from the game saying “person next to me at the match thinks you are crap”

Sometimes the truth hurts but it’s better to hear the truth than have smoke blown up your arse. He has played much better under Frank but we need everyone putting a shift in the last 6 games. Ive heard fans berating him before he’s touched a ball and that’s not my style but I’ve seen a definite change in his approach since the 2nd half of the Leeds game. He’s closing down much better and his use of the ball has been good.

He has been absolutely horrendous for us bar the last 6 weeks.

I have been critical of him in the past as a lot on here but it’s been more to do with his decision making and his desire to get a foot in rather than just making a run to a player with no real intention. He has improved a hell of alot this last couple of months and I won’t criticise him if he’s brave on the ball and putting 100% in.

He scored against wolves on his home Debut, we played great that game. Under Silva, the problem that season was the brain fart of communication between the defence and Pickford. Only Ancelloti has gone someway to solving that conundrum.

Could not agree more, not for me regardless of his efforts recently, premier or championship league whatever comes next get shut of him, never ever have I seem any reason to retain his services along with half a dozen other so-called players trashing up are club. Sod sad Of what’s become of Everton these last few years absolutely gut wrenching.

I’m pretty sure he’s running around a bit more because he’s terrified he might actually get stuck at the club if they go down
