Wouldn’t mind us keeping him next season under Lampard’s coaching to see what he can do. He looks committed to the cause and that’s all we can ask for at this stage.
All we can ask is they put 100% effort in every week. Cannot remember one single player that has ever been booed off at Goodison after giving their all and leaving it all out on the pitch.
Even the crap ones like Straq (sorry Straq) are loved because of his sheer determination and willingness to graft his nuts off every game.

Iwobi will no doubt see the fans response to his effort over recent weeks and hopefully this pushes him on to more.

The problem is effort is really open to interpretation and often players that aren't liked invariably aren't trying hard enough. Iwobi put in that exact performance at Anfield a few years back and it didn't really matter because no one liked him.

As well as Iwobi played in an unfamiliar position I cannot see him as the answer at right wing back and I really don’t think he’s good enough for a CM role, plus right wing back is probably a position he doesn’t really want to play and would push to play a more central role.

One performance in a few years won't endear any player to anybody.

People like him more now entirely because his work rate has increased.
No, people like him now because he's playing better. Evertonians like to pretend that it is all about work but the only example of that really is Stracq, the others were at least decent players for the most part. Like Tim Cahill didn't just work hard.

100%. Wasting your time with him. I now see iwobi putting in challenges that he actualy means. Where as before he was doing those challenges but you knew it was with no commitment. He wasnt really bothered about winning it.
Hey lets not lose sight here. He's part of an Everton squad sitting in the relegation zone. He wasnt worth the money like a lot of our recruitment.
But lampards demanding more fight and he has shown that.

He's a decent squad player at best. Assists?
Goals?
But useful in that role if he tries hard.
