I don't see any increased work rate from Iwobi, he has always worked hard, just without any end product. But he always made himself available, always found space to receive a pass, tried to beat his man and drive forward.

Now that he is playing a different role he is more successful in what he is doing. But to suggest his issues before were due to lack of workrate is nonsense. It's because he was trying to do things he wasn't very good at.

Football is a really fluid thing though. People put far too much thought into what has happened in the past.

Iwobi has by and large been rubbish for us and was rightly chastised for that, currently he is playing well and can get a bit of praise for it. All that ever really matters is the present, they are commodities at the end of the day. If jogging now and again makes us win more games then great.

It's all pretty relative. For me he has been one of our better players in the past month or two. I get what you mean, I feel the same about Mykolenko who has been OK because he has not been awful (if that makes sense?).

With a season like we have had though you cling on to anything vaguely positive.
