2022/23 Alex Iwobi

It isn't, his passing is too loose and plays detached from the other cms, he is a worker outside who is great at doubling up on attacking threats but needs to pose more of a threat going forward. Decent player who has put a shift in, wouldn't mind an upgrade
Our whole midfield needs an upgrade plus two new full backs plus two good strikers if DCL is now made of glass - sell Iwobi at our peril as in a good team he will shine even better .....

Player of the season is the verdict - his spell in centre midfield is where he shone IMO ....

We have good cms, he's not one of them. You can't look at his passing or positioning and think CM.

I think he's a decent player and he worked hard, but if the squad reshape can allow for an upgrade we should do it. I'm glad he has grown though and appears to be enjoying his football more, looked a bit terrified in his first two years

A CM that is absolutely terrified to make a tackle. I'm out!

Brings a lot of energy to the team - reckon he'd have a lot more assists if we had a decent/fit striker.

He'll always have the transfer fee around his neck - but unless we can get that back we may as well keep him whilst we have limited cash for more transfers.

Quite the opposite for me, I think he only appears decent and only has decent stats because of the dross that surrounds him. I think he’d be a joke figure like he was at Arsenal if he was surrounded by good players.
Your a joke - he wins player of the season 7 you still find fault - its easier to play in Arsenals midfield .....than ours -

Only player who can slide the ball through when DCL was in our team ....

Iwobi has exceptionally quick feet, he will run all day, he's reasonably quick and is willing to make surging runs which get us up the field, but, there always a but isn't there? He has absolutely no football brain, can not play with his head up and offers little or no goal threat.

He is about our current level, he is in no way worth the figures that have been bandied about regarding his new contract. He is an average premier league player, no more than that and should have a contract that reflects that. If he is prepared to extend on a reasonable wage then I'd be happy to see him stay. If however, he wants anything north of 60-70 k per week then we should take what we can get for him this summer.

We have players with several different skills in midfield but no really creative player and that is costing us badly. Most goals and goal chances seem to come from wide and relatively few from the middle.

I understand that a player like James Maddison is going to end up at a top six team and totally out of our reach but a player like him would totally transform our midfield and let the others concentrate on what they can do best.

This, in my opinion, is the type of player we need to bring in more than any other midfielder.
