2023/24 Alex Iwobi

Surely he'll get sold in next two weeks?

Injured so won't be of any use in next fixtures and he does less in Dyche set up than under Lampard.

Harrison, McNeill, Danjuma and possibly Gnotto, I'd be starting all of them in front 3 and rather play Garner centrally than him if it was a choice.

So don't see much room for someone with 12 months left and a high wage earner. Offer him to Palace or West Ham if they sell Pacqueta.

Can’t see Moyes wanting this waster. Or anyone, especially injured.

No ill will against him and I wish him all the best in terms of health and happiness, but if he became unavailable to play for five or six months for one reason or another, it would be a huge plus for Everton.

Unless what I'm reading is wrong, he's got 12 goals and 12 assists in 4 years. In the league, 6 and 6.

Our 5th most expensive signing ever, supposedly collecting over 100k a week has an average of 3 goals and 3 assists a season.
1.5 if you only include league games.

Baller
But he's got 4000 x/keypasses a game, yeah none of them ever come off but look at his stats!!!

Genuinely though, Iwobi in my opinion is the litmus test to show what fans understand football and what fans rely just on stats. Anyone with 2 eyes and a brain can see Iwobi is an attrocious footballer with no upside and he's been this same way since we signed him. He's had one solid month of average performances in his entire Everton career and he dines off of that.

It's hard to quantify but for his price, gametime, contributions and re-sale value I would say that he's probably one of the worst signings of all time, perhaps only behind Madrid buying Hazard, he was World Class which justified the price tag but went off the boil though, no one ever rated Iwobi for even half of what we paid for him. Outside of that move I genuinely can't think of a single player that's been so bad for so long and still gets into the team. He was signed as an addition to a good Europa League as the club's 5th most expensive player like you say and here he is 5 years later looking shockingly bad in a relegation side.

An utter wage thief for his entire career. The day he leaves Everton will be a happy one.

.….not sure if you know this, Matey, but a player has to agree to leave and a club has to be willing to sign him.

Well he's stalled on the new contract that was offered to him last winter so that suggests to me he's o.k moving on.

Plenty of London interest in Gray so don't see why Iwobi wouldn't attract offers from bottom half teams.

….no, Fella. Stalling on a new deal means he’s wanting to run down his current contract & move on a Bosman. Its what footballers do to get themselves mega bucks and I don’t blame him in the least.

I think stuff like "coward" is a bit harsh personally.

Last season at Man. United he was carried off with what looked a serious injury. Wasn't anywhere near as bad as thought and he was out there the next week v Southampton and hardly missed a game in the run in.

Today he felt his hamstring go so you're not going to stay on and risk significant damage as you can't run off those types of tweaks.

With his style he gets on the ball enough, my issue is he simply dosen't create or score enough for all his touches in final third although I accept the options infront of him are a long way from elite generally.

Perhaps the club would rather he goes on a free, I dunno but just seems another drifting example where player will just let his contract run down and put out o.k performances.

Gray's only got 12 months left hasn't he? Club actively trying to sell him so you can't just let every single player in last 12-18 months do that, have to sell some of them to recoup money for FFP etc.

We buy crap on big wages so no one wants them as it is Gray is one of the better buys and should of been in the squad last 2 games as he is still our player, we get someone in on loan injured and £15m on a kid not ready to start games yet I honestly don’t care if Iwobi or anyone else goes for free used to it now.
