Wasn't the player we needed when we signed him and never became that player either in the 4 years he was here. Had one purple patch in 2022 when Lampard played him centrally and he realised he actually had to run around a bit in games. Nowhere near enough though overall.

No ill will here, seemed a good chap who never kicked up a stink even when the stick he sometimes got wasn't justified. I just really believe he won't be missed much.
