I don't think you have understood my question. Why did he have to admit that?
First and foremost its a crime to lie under oath.

He and his lawyer had told the court that he had no texts or emails discussing Sandy Hook and certain things with financials etc. It proved that he was lying to the court and completely discredits him as a witness to the jury.

He had to admit it wasn't a hoax because if he didn't he would be in contempt of court.

Something to do with saying that he had no text messages about the shootings on his phone. When said messages were found he 'couldn't remember' sending or receiving them.

Facebook and that there Twitter thing.

Everyone thought it would be awesome when anyone in the world could have their voice heard.

It just seems like it’s divided people.

Erm, been going on a bit longer than that. 24-hour news (especially those named after a certain sneaky mammal) and tabloid newspapers (ahem, almost all Uk news) have been spreading lies to gain eyes and ears for years. Any Scouser should be accustomed to this. In fact a certain Aussie has a play in both the US and UK news markets and bears no small responsibility, although he himself is not the cause.

Correct . You are under a duty to disclose all documents ( which doesn't just mean something on paper ) relevant to the case unless those documents are "priviledged" such as communications between a client and his lawyer, regardless of whether or not they are damaging to your case.

I may be wrong having never had the priviledge of practising in the USA but I thought that broadly similar rules applied - at least they do in John Grisham books! lol

Not read him! But yes I think the video title is clickbait surely. I know the prosecutor says your lawyers messed up, but they likely disclosed everything to avoid misleading the court themselves.

It’s almost an achievement that he’s managed to be more repulsive than anyone else in the crop of vile right wing talking heads.

Anyone who can comfortably be worse than Tucker “great replacement theory” Carlson, Ben “mentioned as a inspiration by a mass shooter” Shapiro, and Jordan “We’ll see who needs a benzo, bucko” Peterson must’ve been putting in effort to become that utterly hatable

Punitive damages almost always get slashed (like say 90-95%). He can tie up actually having to pay for a long long time. There are loopholes upon loopholes for what cannot or can be siezed every state. The victims will see very little money in damages from this ruling.

Jones would certainly be the Thing in that remake of the Fantastic Four. Wouldn't need make up.

In Ireland for civil cases we have what's called the discovery process. This can be agreed voluntary between the parties or, if the parties cannot reach agreement, then the Court can order it. Whatever side is making the discovery then lists each document in a schedule. You certainly would not give a phone as part of discovery. You might say that you will discover texts between certain days and between certain parties. These would then be printed out and handed over.

Yeah, I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread but Texas has a maximum cap of $750,000 per plaintiff. Two plaintiffs in this case. No need to do the maths.
