Alisher Usmanov

Share prices would plummet if he said he was looking to sell his Arsenal shares and invest elsewhere. I don't think there's anything in those reports tbh and I'm firmly in the mind he will buy into the club.

If and a big if he was looking to sell his shares in Arsenal then my guess is that Kronke wouldn't hesitate and probably would use the facility he had inplace to buy shares with, I think, Detusche Bank

75% ownership enables him to in effect change the way that Arsenal are structured as a company and if he were to get total ownership , which he would if he purchased Usmanovs 30%, it would enable him to take control of the huge pot of gold that Arsenal have built up.

The Arsenals supporters trust are understandably twitchy a about Kronkes position and whilst he gave certain assurances when he failed last time to take control it was more about not putting debt on the company to finance any share purchase.

Again though, that's not considering the vagaries of certain political climates.

If that money is out of the country and into a very, very secure asset, it's a pretty good approach.

Don't underestimate the value of this sort of investment.

I do think we will get more investors in with Moshiri - not Usmanov, but people who want to take the 'Usmanov' approach like his investment in Arsenal. Don't forget, he hasn't shown an unwillingness to share his new toy, which was what prevented the previous regime from attracting investment historically.
Cant argue with any of that mate.
Still think his shares in Arsenal are only fraction to the richest man in Russia.

Absolutely - just a fraction.

But another way to look at it is a bit like these massive London house purchases that run into the tens of millions but sit empty. They're an incredibly safe investment, but what they could do is going to a smaller town or city, buy up masses of properties, invest in them, bring them up to a higher standard, get an easy lead into local then national government etc. which fits the prestige / influence argument, not neatly but you get the general premise.

Arguably, if you're worth multi-billions, you don't really need to do either - so what if the house in Little Venice goes up from £20m to £40m if you're already worth a hundred, or a thousand times that? But it's about making safe, diverse investments. Just not sure why he'd sell his Arsenal one. And people talk about him wanting to fight Kroenke from a different vantage point - what do you think he would look like backing down here? He's become a myth at Arsenal - "if only Usmanov could take us over, he'd instantly spend billions"... much like we are speculating now.

He'll be here soon enough, no rush now he's got his partner in place laying the foundations here.

Big development on the docks, a football quarter, bars, restaurants, hotel, museum, big brand new state of the art stadium, Moshiri with "partners" willing to fund the lot, of course Usmanov wants nothing to do with a brilliant project like that, that will stand out as a top attraction in Europe, he's happy to waste his time at Arsenal with his dream of controlling a Prem football club no nearer now than it was 10 years ago.

Wake up nay sayers, see the wood for the trees.

All he has denied is his intent to sell his Arsenal shares. No denial of joining Everton or denial that he may just give his Arsenal shares to his family.....*Taps nose...........

He seems to be constantly overlooked/shut out at Arsenal to the point he cant even get near the board .
At the moment he only has an investment stake of shares, judging by the previous statement from Red & White he & Moshiri criticised the club for not holding on to the likes on Van Persie plus not paying out for Top Talent. IMO they will never get control hence Moshiri selling up and buying into Everton.
On the face of it , its a little strange his right hand man would take this sort of action. But unless we are part of the Billionaire Society we (and the media circus) will never get to know their full long term intentions . But as for now Moshiri is driving the club forward like nothing seen since Moores era....Maybe his partner might like a slice :D

A telling thing is a man of Moshiris wealth bring able to instantly convince people who have been highly sceptical of the ability to fund a new stadium to the extent Anderson stated soon after meeting him. It screams out there's someone on board with the takeover or incoming whose wealth dwarves Moshiris (in football owners terms) modest wealth - the majority if which is actually tied up in his Metalloinvest holdings.

Being able to effectively guarantee and underwrite the cost of the stadium in that way - especially in light of his and usmanovs open letter criticising arsenals owners for putting the cost of there's onto the club, suggests available resources far far beyongld what moshiri has available personally.

Anyone who has not read the full letter from a few years back really should do, it gives insight into his thinking and lan and also really does underpin what a strong friendship and meeting of like minds there is with him and usmanov, it's a joint dream they held and thinking there's not a lot more to this story is short sighted.

Exactly my way of thinking.....very good read that open letter.

I think this is the letter, very interesting read

A lot if people almost ignore that it was penned by both, and from the history of the two men you can be sure as Shi* that moshiri had a huge input into it and the plan it puts forth, don't see two men with such a history and such a shared passion and dream to suddenly call it quits whilst one goes on to try to half fulfilling it due to a shortage of means and the other decides to give up entirely on his ambition.

This is the same usmanov who almost single handedly clawed back piece by piece everything stolen from Gazprom in the Yeltsin years, from oligarchs, criminals and whatnot, sorry someone able to do that doesn't sit back and admit he's lost to a fat American with a bad wig, he picks his time, plans and then excecutes that plan to win. As for why he didn't move himself - isn't that moshiris role between the two, it's why he is his advisor, what general goes into battle first?

Moshiri to Everton was there opening move of what will be a crazy few years.

Yup that's the one mate, and really it'd be a good sticky for the forum, it is our owner talking about his vision for building a successful team and how it should be ran, anyone questioning his lack of statements should read that and realise he already has laid out exactly his vision, team has changed the idea won't have.

Yes, and I did wonder why Moshiri was hell bent on getting Koeman, when for all intents and purposes he was meant to be who's next Manager, Arsenal.
