Superb - We sometimes forget our parents have their heroes as well, so meeting one of yours dads must of been a great moment

My 'arl fella' was a very good goalkeeper in his own right, & his heroes were Lev Yashin & Gordon Banks !

I met Gordon Banks on a train, & a jolly nice chap he is !!

Please do not attempt to get around the swear filter.

How about your Grandad's favorite player then? I briefly met Tom Finney a couple of times. My dad vaguely remembers being taken to see him and Stanley Matthews play whilst a nipper, mainly so he could remember what a real footballer was.
My Grandad hated Jimmy Hill with a passion for ruining football forever by removing the wage cap.

FAMOUS FOOTBALLERS: ALF MILWARD, EVERTON AND ENGLAND

"One of the comparatively few Southerners who have secured a permanent place in a League Team, Alfred Milward, of the Everton Club was born at Great Marlow a quarter of a century ago. Educated at Sir William Borlase's School, he subsequently played for two seasons with the Old Borlasians. His reputation even then as a forward had travelled Northward, and ten years ago he joined the Everton Club, with, as events have proved, the most satisfactory results. At all events he is still one of its best and most valued players. Both the Lancashire and Liverpool Associations, too, have found him a most useful player, and even still higher honours have fallen to him in International Caps against both Wales and Scotland. A fine left wing, he has done brilliant service for the Everton Club. Fast and with pluck withal, he plays the game thoroughly, whether winning or losing. 12 stone in weight, he stands 5ft 8 1/2in in height."

Think that's a bit unfair, clubs treated their employees like crap before the removal of the wage cap. I don't like how wealthy players are nowadays but it's capitalism ennit.
