Actually reckon him and Moise will improve massively this coming season once Don Carlo works his magic and makes it his team with some of his players. Ye man Marcel needs to drop a couple more bombs and we could even resemble a half decent togger side once things knit together.

I'm confident this season will end the same way the 14/15 and 38/39 seasons did. Put the house on it.

Fwiw this forum was a good place when the Esk was on it.

it’s hard to disagree with the general point he makes - though it’s not really one which is hard to come up with.

suppose he’d just help himself if he was a bit less definitive with his statements. He did himself a lot of damage - reputation wise - with the Mata/Witsel stuff, even though I reckon he passed on that information in good faith at the time

anyway, Allan will be a brilliant signing. Compliment him with Doucoure and James and, along with Gomes and, eventually, Gbamin, we’ve transformed our midfield

he’s a player who needs to be put in a team where things are happening around him.

If he’s tasked with being the main creative fulcrum then I think it goes to his head. Put him in a side where he is part of A functioning unit and he - on paper - has the tools to succeed.

got some pace, carries the ball well, can pick a pass and is strong and pretty skilful. He does have to learn how to put that altogether on a consistent basis, mind

I didn't mind the esk that much but his biggest issue for me (besides the mata/witsel stuff) was that he comes off extremely condescending and acts like his word is gospel. I'm sure our owner with a stellar financial background knows what he's doing with our budget which will allow us to get Allan and co

I mean, I don't doubt that we need to get people off the wage bill, but he doesn't help himself with spreadsheets and the like

I say this as someone who has no animosity towards Esk

Like the guy and we've always got on, but the way he's so forthright and somewhat stubborn is always going to lead to people having the hump and coming after him

This is the internet, where the very worst of humanity will do their very worst even without much provocation, so if you actively provoke people then you're going to get a response you might not like
