Christ, we have so many fans who cant read what a player does in a game, do you all rely on MoTD for your opinions?

Unbelievable how some just see what they want to. Ross Barkley had 60 yards open grass in front of him to run into every single time he got the ball and our defensive midfielder didn’t tackle him once. But sure, he was great.

Who was in our midfield? Gomes, worked renowned grafter, Siggurdson, another world renowned grafter, Alex Iwobi, a footballer in the loosest possible sense, and an out of form Richarlison but hey, let's have a pop at Allan.

I think you‘ll find I’ve had a pop at every single one of those players in their own threads, but this is the Allan thread.

my point still stands, Ross Barkley having a bit of a run into space when 4 out of the 5 midfielders are less than mobile is the fault of the one who is mobile?

I mean, am I being unreasonable by expecting our defensive midfielder to make a tackle in a game of football?

yes if you are expecting him to make a tackle on one side of the pitch and moments later make one on the other side Thats why teams play endless side to side, to move teams around and crate space when players don't move too, that creates gaps. The ball moves faster than Allan. Do you not watch the game analytically or do you just watch when things go wrong?

Well no, I’m just expecting him to do some defending somewhere on the pitch? Shouldn’t his role in that side be to screen the back 4? He was completely invisible in that position which is why they ripped us open through the middle multiple times in the first half. I know he’s a shiny new toy and it’s very taboo to criticise those, but he was really poor in that first 45 in particular.

Mate, I'm bored of this., You're right he's dreadful. Goodnnight.

He did not play well tonight. He left us extremely exposed to transitions and played without any discipline. When he is good he is very good because he is fully committed but when he is poor, the team cannot function. He had an extremely poor game as did the entire midfield unit.
He only got exposed Tim by his desire to get forward, a task the players in those positions couldn't do. He wanted that equalizer more than anyone on the pitch so can forgive him for his defensive lapses.
