Football has been corrupt for years, the thing that kept me watching the beautiful game was that at least until a couple of years ago politics was kept out of sports . That has also all changed in recent years and now football is used to push political agenda.

Definitely with money and gambling proof enough.

But football is moving away from being just sport and in realms of production and entertainment with script. VAR should have been much more transparent as it is in other sports. And it's left me wondering why not?

Pointless appealing. If VAR had been around when rodwell was sent off for shadow tackling suarez even that wouldnt have been overturned.

We've never got anything like that go for us. It aint starting now.

I listen to a podcast each week with Keith Hackett that goes through the weekends referee decisions.

Up until a couple of weeks ago a PL referee has only stuck to his original decision once since its introduction.
That's a problem. Also, I don't think PL referees are allowed to request a review on their own. VAR has to suggest it. Weird.

('seen them given' is that pod if you want to give it a go)
And to be fair that went our way in the Derby.

Was it Luke Shaw last season, I can't remember who it was against, he completely took someone out, the most cynical foul you'll see and he got a yellow card. Var must've looked at it and didn't overturn it, says it all.
