Do like this lad and think he is going to the top level but that was horrible yesterday wasn't it. Didn't do a single thing good, slowed everything down, just jogged with it or passed it back everytime he had it, didn't look fit at all

Was completely knackard against Fulham. Should've been rested for Garner or Doucs for that game and this one.

I think the first 5 minutes absolutely summed up his and Evertons performance. Receives a nice ball into feet and has a chance to drive into the box and really attack the defender. Instead, he turns sideways, runs right along the 18 yard box and inexplicably passes it backwards and it ends up back at Pickford.

It's that complete lack of responsibility and taking ownership of the ball that absolutely burns my head.

Iwobi is literally the only player who even dares to look for a forward pass and then Tarkowski and Coady will try the odd long ball with varying degrees of success. The rest of them....sideways, backwards, backwards, sideways, backwards, sideways, sideways and somewhere in between all that they still manage to lose possession even when playing it safe.

It's embarrassing

This is pretty much our biggest problem. I thought Onana would help to solve this, but his lack of quality yesterday was alarming. Him and Gana very rarely seem capable of moving the ball forward quickly, and their first instinct seems to be to pass the ball backwards. They need to be a lot braver on the ball, but the general movement of the players needs to improve dramatically to help them do this. Pass and move into space seems an alien concept all too often. Too happy to stay in position and be easily marked out of any attacks. The whole team needs to be braver with the ball, provide more options and work hard to cover for each other. Yesterday we were awful! And I was stupid enough to put them in a bet with 8 teams that won, adding to my anger! ?

Whatever he has or had which made us pay big money for him has disappeared. That is down to our struggling and possibly inadequate manager to sort out.

Need to have him playing deeper and with more discipline.

Not sure what Lampard was thinking yesterday. Had Onana roaming so far forward that one pass was taking him and Iwobi out and leaving Gueye to try and plug the holes.

Literally not one thing I could take from yesterday's performance as a positive. It was shambolic from the team and management and simply not good enough.

Yeah I was a little confused about it as well. He usually tries to push Onana up when we don't have DCL to go long to, but we were doing that early doors which was strange. Can only assume it was to press their back line into mistakes.

It left us so wide open time after time. Very similar to last seasons performance against them where they should have been out of sight.

Maddison is levels and levels and levels above anything we have. Gets the ball, drives with it knits things together, wants to get shots off, brings others into play, good on set pieces.

Bloody hell we are utterly depressingly crap lol

Onana whilst not doing much wrong played in a position he totally bypassed.

Madison was the main difference yesterday , we've not one player anywhere near his ability.

Plus Harvey Barnes puts all of our wide men to shame.

Can’t say I’ve seen anything yet to suggest this guy is the answer to our midfield issues. Admittedly I didn’t see the Palace game, but from what I have seen I’m not sure what he is supposed to be. He seems slow on the ball and a few times has been caught napping in possession which has led to opposition breaks on goal. He doesn’t appear to be a goal threat typified by That 1 on 1 he had against Newcastle which nearly ended up in Gateshead plus for a 6’4’’ feller his heading ability seems wanting. He’s had about 4 headers on goal none of which have been on target.
Hopefully I’m wrong, but this seems another misjudgment of Frank’s in bringing him in for big bucks.
