I think the treatment of Gordon has become more than a little bit uncomfortable
I like the diplomatic way you say weird mate.

I'd like to add that the vitriol is not isolated to forums either where I feel its okay to vent a bit, preferably without making it personal. The anger towards a 21 year footballer at the ground is palpable.I like the diplomatic way you say weird mate.

The idea that a large part of the resentment people have towards him is that the club turned down a bid that he had no control of, just makes the attitude towards him so childish. As you say circumstances haven't helped and missing out on Kudos so narrowly was the real kicker, you would hope the grown adults in the fan base would be a bit more objective about it.The dynamic in the summer did him no favours mate, the high profile interest and valuations just raised expectations over say a 10 mil Garner, even a 30 mill Onana. That and when Richarlison left all eyes and responsibility fell on him for creative initiative, more so with DCLs fitness issues. He hasn’t played many PL games with the clubs first choice striker fit.
The lid is 21 with a year of first team starting experience. In that year the first 6 months of it, he played a key role in keeping us up, the next he became our current top scorer.…..21.
Been treated terribly by the club and his own…
Spot on......expectations hit the roof hence the disappointment causing resentment towards him. If that interest hadn't happened then more leeway would be given and he would still be allowed to grow. I think Lampard is also seeing this and is starting to manage him more. The dynamic in the summer did him no favours mate, the high profile interest and valuations just raised expectations over say a 10 mil Garner, even a 30 mill Onana.
