2022/23 Amadou Onana

With a 5yr contract to his name, we now have time to learn the art of sensibility ( not a word usually associated with our club )
we need to make the most out of the lad while he's with us to strengthen our team and help towards moving us in the right direction and then flatly turn down any initial bids until we have a queue outside playing tug of war for his signature.
Whilst already having his replacement signed on the dotted line and ready to go.

Sad, Sad times when conversations of selling players are already happening within 6 months of them signing....

Onana will be out of our league very soon. His potential is far better than ours. I expect him to go to a champions league club within the next 2 years.

For us at the moment its a good model to use. As much as i'd like to keep our best players and push on its unrealistic. These young lads with this much potential see us as a stepping stone to further their career. If he does the business, gets his head down, pushes us on and move for big money then unfortunately so be it.

He's got a long way to go though.

It’s a much better model than buying older players on high salaries that aren’t good enough, don’t get played, then run their contracts down and leave on a free.

I think Garner will be a hit for us. Two young players in Garner & Onana yet to reach potential bodes well for us in the future but the present is of more concern.
Onana I feel is going to be a great.....not sure if that will be with us. We will continue to lose our better players if we cannot turn our form around
I agree on garner. I just have a feeling he’s going to become a favourite at our club.

I always find how we compare players of the same age funny.

The majority on here would be for a public stoneing of Anthony Gordon, while James Garner is one for the future and needs time to reach his potential and to develop, few weeks between the two in age. Onana himself is the same age and again needs time to develop and reach his potential.

The level of logic of patience applied to each is telling…..

I think the treatment of Gordon has become more than a little bit uncomfortable
