Took a wallop over his left eye in that game.

He’s clearly very very talented. I struggle to get my head round anyone not seeing that. He’s young, inexperienced and in a new country though, and we’re asking him to play in a role that helps the team but doesn’t necessarily show the best of him.
I struggle to see what he brings to Everton’s game, Gana and Doucoure worked overtime yesterday for him because he just wasn’t in the game and rarely is, just ambling around doing next to nothing but sideways and backward safety passes.

Ah so he’s lazy is he? Who would ever have seen that one coming?

Yesterday wasn’t a great game for him, it wasn’t the first time. I covered that in the post you’re replying to. If you don’t see the talent there that’s fine, but I think it’s incredibly obvious myself.

He has had a dip. To be expected. The consensus was he probably needed another year in France before joining the PL. Davies is not good enough, Garner is not fit and with Gray not trusted to play out wide allowing Iwobi to move central he probably can’t be taken out

Well good for you, that talent might be too late to save us, we need him shaping up now. It should also be incredibly obvious to you that he ambles about and let’s others do his work for him, it’s incredibly obvious and very annoying to me.

Been disappointed he hasn’t kicked on since the home game against Arsenal where he was outstanding and dominated the best team in the league.
He’s young though so normal for him to have dips, I’m sure Dyche will have him back in form soon.

Dyche has mentioned recently that he’s had little niggles that he’s playing with - wonder if he’s struggling a bit with injury?

Him, Gana and Doucs are competitive and certainly don’t get walked through like last season. Do wonder with Gana and Doucs playing so well at the moment whether we would miss Onana if we gave him a rest. Might be a chance to give Garner a game once he’s fully fit. But yeah, out of the three currently starting, it’s Onana that looks like he needs a break.

I feel like some people are missing that he’s playing a really important role in being the auxiliary centre forward that we aim all long kicks at. Even though his overall performances haven’t been great recently, we can’t just replace him with Tom davies and carry on playing the same way. His size is really important to us at the moment, and to some extent he’s sacrificing the rest of his game to allow us to use him that way.

Dominating the best team in the league with World class performance that is pretty difficult to kick on from. If he played like that all the time he'd be up for the balon d'or and we'd not have him. I'd be happy if he could do 80% of that level consistently

He is obviously still carrying a knock from his knee issue a few weeks back.

He is better than the other options currently and at 21 and this being his first season in the league he should improve.

He should be on about 6 goals now... he could do with some work there but couldn't they all?

Still young, so has that performance swing from game to game - 8/10 one week, 4/10 the next. Think he’ll settle and we’ll see a more consistent player next season.

Needs to learn how to finish though, was a sitter that on Saturday.
