Ludicrous innit.

Just shows the level of footballing intelligence among our fanbase that a player linked with Chelsea, Arsenal and wearing the armband for Belgium is deemed crap.

Speaks so much to what our fanbase is like.

I don't think many on the forum have called him crap, but his performances this season have been inconsistent at best. It says a lot that the most positive comments he's had in this thread in a long time have actually come from when he hasn't been on the pitch.

Any word on him?

Really need him, Doucs, Mina and Dom back in the team and just go very physical and direct, lots of set pieces into the box.
On other injury news, Coleman's issue is his hamstring. On Onana's groin issue, Dyche says the midfielder had an issue 'he needed to settle down'. No timeframes provided

It also might show the level of your intelligence if you think Onana has been playing well for Everton and I doubt, very much, going on the evidence of his usual performances that he would have made any difference to the result on Saturday. Where do you sit when you watch Everton?

😴 not deemed crap but deemed not that good for the fee banded about just barely looks worth his £30m fee. The least I expect from a player of that fee is he can at least play a bit he’s not a bad player and can improve but he’s nothing to get excited about or any reason to slap a daft price tag on him be quite happy getting what we can for him and trying to rebuild this monstrosity of a squad cause his on pitch antics doesn’t warrant the crowd waving bore off onana and give us something to make noise about and the rest of your teams mates how about yous drag us over the line as I’m tired of the same crap every week.
That’s the one thing you can’t complain about: He’s a brilliant cheer leader just that his own play doesn’t encourage much if anything to cheer about!!

Perhaps you could provide some stats to show how he is playing so poorly?

That may be a little tricky for you seeing as the stats had him around the top of several metrics.

Probably why hes so highly rated.

Zatara, I think we’ve had this debate before, apologies if it wasn’t with you. Well if the stats rates him so high, I’d have to know who was providing those stats in the first place, being honest that wouldn’t make much difference stats mean nothing on their own, eg, a certain player made 200 passes in the game, doesn’t tell you how many were five yard backward passes or sideway, Zatara do yourself a favour and use your own eyes, they will tell you how good a player is and my eyes follow Onana in every game and they tell me he doesn’t work hard enough, goes missing for minutes on end, doesn’t pick his opposition player up, let’s him stray away and do damage to Everton, does a few good things like tackling but even then he has been booked a few times for sliding in on the floor and tackling from behind. After watching him, just from every home games but quite a few on TV I still don’t know if he is an attacking player or a defensive one because he is in and out of the game, mostly out, and sometimes I forget he is even on the field except at the end of every game when he really comes to life with that cheer leading.give him his due he is brilliant at it, as a footballer I’ve got to admit he has got potential, when is he going to bleedin’ show it!!

Top balcony. Great view. Can see exactly how much of the pitch he covers.

And the fact our midfield looked like Swiss cheese on Saturday without him, I'd say you haven't got a clue If you think a 6'4 midfielder with endless athleticism doesn't make a difference.

I watch the games on my laptop and for me...

Good passing range
Very athletic
Variety of tackling choices (he can tackle and win the ball from all sides--if that makes sense)
Very strong

Etc etc...hes got the lot to be a top notch all round box to box player.

However....

Hes moved clubs in each of the past 3 summers and of course this means winter breaks -- limited summer training at a new club -- also the lack of games in previous seasons compared to starting all of ours in a much faster league.

Hes been thrown into the deep end in a poor team and is showing very high potential but also showing weakness and inconsistency in others as a young player.

The stats i dont have from a month or two back (theyre in this thread somewhere) but IMO they point to him being a clear DM.

For me, he looks like a midfield anchor. Dyche and Lampard have both said they are moving him around positionally and tactically to improve his all round game.
